After clicking this we get this error> "An error occured while creating a file diaolog..." Thats it. No dialog to insert a file opens. Nothing. Very frustrating becuase I cant seem to find ANY information anywhere to solve this. I have reinstalled office 2x, ran all the updates. Thanks!
  • 2. How do I permanently set slide show arrow to visible, never hide?
I'm using Office 2003 PowerPoint. My CEO wants to be able to switch from ppt slide show mode to other files and then back to slide show and have the arrow be set to visible without having to select it again. Any help would be appreciated.
  • 3. Problem with master view
This is an odd one... I've applied a notes master to a presentation, but oddly enough it doesn't seem to effect all the slides. Some of them follow the master, but others are drastically resized and the layouts are completely different. As far as I know, there isn't anything unusual about these slides that would cause the odd formatting. Right now I'm stuck going into notes view and fixing the broken slides manually, but if there's an easier way to fix it (or if there's something I'm doing wrong), I'd really like to know!

Powerpoint Lines

Postby R1M » Fri, 02 Oct 2009 10:20:01 GMT

Is there a way to create a custom line in powerpoint. Right now there is a
dashed line, but I want a dashed line that looks like a T shape with the T
pointing inwards.

No, I'm afraid you can't create your own line styles, you are limited to
those which are pre-defined.

1.Cannot Line Up PowerPoint Lines

I am using MS Office PowerPoint 2003 (11.8135.8132) SP2 on XP 5.1 SP2.

I draw different lines and try to line them up but, with either
dragging or using the arrow keys, they always overshoot the mark.
Click 1 left and it's too far to the left. Then click 1 right and
it's too far to the right. I cannot even extend a horizontal line to
make it stay horizontal. The dragging end either goes too far up or
too far down so I get a slope I don't want. It has nothing to do with
pixel resolution because I cannot drag the end of one line to where
the end of another line is.

I there some way to set it so that I get finer resolution where I drag

Many thanks in advance,

2.Gridlines ok in Excel but linked powerpoint- lines are missing

I have several charts that look just fine in Excel (2003). I have the graphs
linked to a powerpoint presentation. In Powerpoint, which major axis
gridlines show - up seem random. I have tried resizing the graph. That gets a
different subset of gridlines. I want all the gridlines to show-up in the
powerpoint presentation. I have deleted and relinked the charts.

3.Powerpoint Lines/Connections - Where they cross

Is there a way in PowerPoint to have connecting lines show a small hump when
they cross, in just the way they do in Visio.

Is there a special connector? A property of a line or connector? I don't
even know what to properly call it.

It is the visual hump meant to indicate that two lines cross without feeding
into each other.

4.PowerPoint line feature

In Corel Presentation, there is a line feature identified by a zig-zagged
line that allows you to draw a line, then click, then draw a line in a
different direction, etc. and it automatically connects the lines together.
I find no such feature in Powerpoint. The closest I find is the connecting
lines which are not the same at all. Anyone know if that feature exists in
Powerpoint. If so, please let me know where it is and how to access it.
Thanks loads!

5.How do I build a PowerPoint line that builds along its length?

I am in serious trouble. Major class presentation due in 3 days. I need to
build an effect in PowerPoint but don't know how. I can do basic fly-ins,
etc. But I cannot figure out how to get a line to draw progressively across
a page, as if the audience is watching it being drawn, end to end. I'm using
Power Point 2003 (11.6361.6408) SP1, for students and teachers. Somebody
please tell me how to do this. Thanks.
