I am trying to do slides with multiple animations showing blood (and all the components of blood) going through vessels. As you can imagine, there are a lot of crossing motion paths, and I am finding that it is not only hard for me to keep them straight, but sometimes the beginning and ends of paths automatically set themselves as a continuous line, even if they are for different objects just because they are close to each other. Is there any way to operate animations on different "layers", so that I can complete one before going onto another and not have them interact? I am using 2003.

WAV or MP3 Sound Files Won't Play In PPT 2007

Postby UnVzdHk » Wed, 12 Mar 2008 04:20:01 GMT

I've been inserting wav and mp3 sound files which I have saved in the same
folder as my presentation but they won't play. I have set the file size to
50,000 kbs, and have tried every other suggestion on this discussion group
site. I must say that I have been successful in getting a few wav files to
play, but these were just practice files and not the ones I need for my
presentation.
I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get this project completed, but after
15 hours of frustrating attempts to make these sound files work, I really
need help.

Just for reference, here's the name of one of the sound files I'm trying to
insert:

"Z:\_1 1 1 2 RUSTY\___1 RUSTY'S PUBLIC TALKS\Carson City Historical
Society\Favorite Forms of Entertainment During Glory Years of the Carson
Mint\PowerPoint\02 - We Sail The Ocean Blue from H.M.S. Pinafore.wav"

Thanks,

Rusty

I would start by creating a folder with a much shorter path, add the sound
and presentation files and re insert the sounds.

Off hand I would say your path is way too long. (A known issue in PPT.) I
suspect that if you create a folder with a shorter path (Example:
"C:\mypres") and move the presentation and sound files to it and reinsert
the sound files it will work as expected.

Apparently SIZE does matter. I renamed the sound files, reducing the
characters by 80%, saved them in new folder with a shorter name, and
presto-change-o they now play in PPT.

Thanks for the tip,

Rusty

Austin,

That's definitely the trick (at least in my situation) as I just told John
Wilson.

I appreciate both of you guys' responses.

Glad it's sorted. I believe the path length limit is 128 characters but I
would advise using the minimum possible.

5.Get Multiple Sound (Music) mp3 Files to Play Consecutively in Ppt

I've seen posts on getting one sound/music file to play throughout a
presentation but I would like to play a couple songs (several mp3s) and have
my presentation loop, if possible playing different songs the whole time.

Do I need to make a CD with all the mp3s or is there a way in ppt to add
them all to play one after the other?

I'm thinking since I want different songs to play I might want to copy the
slides...or is there a way to loop them and play different songs or a CD?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
