  • 1. HP LJ 2200dn pulls paper back into printer
Hello My HP LJ 2200dn suddenly started to pull back every paper into the printer. It also happens when printing the test page. First it comes out halfway and then it goes back to duplex. That is normal. Then it shows up halfway again and then it gets pulled back into the printer. The next paper printed of cours will jam. What's the solution of this problem? This printer worked so far fine for exactly 1.5 years. Thanks Susanne P.S. At the moment I opened the back door to avoid paper jams but I cannot duplex anymore. -- Das Senden von unbestellter Werbung an diese E-Mail-Adresse ist gegen eine Umtriebsentschaedigung von Fr. 250.-- pro erhaltenes E-Mail gestattet. • 2. inkjet cleaning
I have just bought a new inkjet cartridge. I note that it has sticky take over the printhead. I have always assumed that this was a bad idea (glue blocking jets). But it occurs that perhaps the sticky tape actually clears the jets by withdrawing material that blocks the jets. I am wondering if stick tape might be a good way of unblocking clogged jets. If you disagrre, what do you think the sticky tape is for? Let me know what you think. All the best Andy -- All responses to the newsgroup please
  • 3. home network printer
I would like to print from a computer on my home network to a printer connected to another computer on the network. Do I have to install the complete printer software package on the remote computer? (like I did on the computer connected directly to the printer) I did install the complete package on the remote computer but it is so resource intensive and runs all the time. I only print from the remote computer occasionally and am hoping I can just install "a driver". Is there some minimal way to install just a driver or do I need the whole shebang running on this remote computer all the time? The host computer runs XP The remoter computer runs ME The printer is HP7960 Thanks for any direction anyone can provide.

Is there a difference between the canon i560 and i560s printer models? Dose $30 rebate apply to both? Thank you, Seamus J. Wilson

Does anyone know of any other drivers that will work with the pagepro
1350w, besides the one that ships with it?

I have a custom application that needs to scale the printed page
(height and width separately), while at the same time adjusting the
left and top margin. In effect, I'm stretching the printed page to
match a standard I was given. If I print to the company's HP printer,
it scales according to the coordinates I pass in my print routine. I
can make it print each of the four corners at any spot on the page I
want, thereby stretching the image. But when I print to the pagepro,
it ignores the custom settings and prints based on the paper size.

I tried every possible combination of settings (paper size, scaling, x
& y offsets) that the print driver allows, but I can't make it scale
the same as the HP. I also need to be able to set it to print at 300
x 300 DPI, which the supplied driver doesn't have a setting for. It
has 1200 x 1200 and 600 x 600, but I need it to handle 300 x 300 also.
When I try to use a different driver (even another minolta), it won't
print at all. It's a local printer using USB, not that it should

In article < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >,

This is a Windows printer--which means that it doesn't have an onboard
processor or operating system to process high level page description

Instead, the Windows GDI display information is passed to your Windows
print driver--which in this case is actually the RIP, the raster image
processor itself for this marking engine. Once the RIP is finished (it
uses your host computer's power to do all the work in turning your
document into a laser bitmap), it sends the bitmap to the marking engine
over the USB cable.

So in the case of a cheap printer like this, no, you won't find any
other driver to drive that marking engine.

What you describe with the HP printer is (a) a better driver, and (b) a
laser printer with its own onboard processor (and, additionally <c> the
ability for any computer to print to it using a driver that generates
the high level page description language that the onboard processor
digests). In a case like that, the processor takes in PCL or
Postscript--and you could try other PCL or Postscript drivers to try to
get different results. But with a Windows printer like your Konica
Minolta, you need the processing software that came with it. They call
it a "driver" but really it's the entire RIP done up in software only,
piggybacking onto your host computer's processing power.

1.Troubles with my Konica Minolta PAGEPRO 1350W

I have a Konica Minolta PAGEPRO 1350W running under WXP PRO SP2.

I am having two major problems:

1) Since I bought a non-standard cartridge, now every time I print
something, it hangs at the end with a warning window stating that I
should always use a standard cartridge, which I would have done if
they just didn't cost so danged much. If I cancel the window, most of
the time I can print some more, but not always - and it is a headache
to always have to look for and cancel said window - and the printer
will not print further until I do so.

2) When I am printing something, if the printer jams, or if I run out
of paper, or whatever, the XP printer window hangs, saying
'pinting...'. When I delete or cancel the line in the XP window, it
changes to 'deleting...', but it never completes the deed. The only
way I can print another page is to shut down and re-boot, after which
the window's line is gone, and I can print once again. Major

Cab anyone advise?

2.REQ: Question On My Konica Minolta Pagepro 1350W Laser Printer

My Pagepro 1350W (laser) is acting peculiar.

I have a 50-page document that I want to print. I printed the first
15 pages as a test and it printed fine. So I set up to print pages
16-50. The computer shows that the printing is being set up (and the
printer window says 'printing....', but then it quits without printing
at all. And in fact the task disappears from the printer window as if
it were completed. I re-tried printing just page 15, and it printed
fine. I re-tried printing just page 16, and it failed as before.

I tried changing the printer's properties in different ways (less ink,
less resolution, etc) all to no avail.

I tried printing pages 16-30 on my HP950 ALL-IN-ONE, and it printed
all the pages just fine.

My 1350W is reatively new, and I don't think I ever tried to print
beyond 15 pages before. So this may be a first for that.

What could be wrong?

This is on staples for $99.98......NO REBATE.........Let me say this
again.......NO pluck down a C note (+tax) and walk away with
the holy grail of all lasers nubies that ask about........."why should I buy
a laser......cause I have an inkjet".?

The reviews look very promising.....

Comments from owners....

Remember, the 1250 was featured a few times for $99 at Staples, but never
