  • 1. Are Scope strored?
Hi, I'm using a calculate to modify the scope of one of my measure for a specific hierarchy. My cube is working under MOLAP mode. I would like to know, if my modification are stored (somewhere in the cube), or if they are recalculated each time? Thanks
  • 2. Rookie MDX question
Hello, I'm new to MDX and need to customize some data displayed in a Microsoft Project Server 2003 cube via Analysis Services. I have created a count of resources, just by doing a distinct count on the "MSP_CUBE_ASSN_FACT"."RES_ENTRUID". However, I only want to count "Enterprise Active" resources, which are specified in a Dimension we have called [Resource Status]. I'm reading some tutorials and trying to get up to speed on MDX, but I need to solve this business problem soon. I need something along the lines of iif([Resouce Status]="Enterprise Active",[Resource Count],0) but this doesn't work. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! thanks
  • 3. Linked or hierarchical fact tables?
I would like to create a cube, based on two different relational "fact" tables. One is the parent of another, basically something along the lines of having an overall "Order" table, with fact data tied to the order itself, and then an "Order Item" type table, with fact data about the individual item. Users would like to be able to view the measures at the order level, but then drill into the item detail, (and again, there will be some measures specific to either the order or the item) Any suggestions as to what to look into? Can you create a hierarchical fact table, or would I need to massage the data into one table or view first? Thanks in advance! Derrick

HI Bill,

Yes, there is. Use the MAXROWS keyword in your query. For example:

DRILLTHROUGH MAXROWS 5000 <...>

HTH

Keith

Thanks

Thanks...I see it now. I'm using the ThinWebClient from microsoft and when
I first tried changing the MAXROWS 1000 to something else it didn't
work...it must have been cached or something. All good now though! Thanks
again.

2.ADSI Query from SQL limited to 1000 rows

Hi,

I am trying to query a list of 2500 users out of the AD in SQL Server with
the following query:

SELECT employeeId, SAMAccountName, Mail
FROM OPENQUERY( ADSI, 'SELECT Mail, SAMAccountName, employeeID FROM
'LDAP://dc=central,dc=mydomain,dc=int''WHERE objectCategory = ''Person''' )

However the result set seems to be limited to 1000 records. I have read that
the "Page Size" parameter for AD should be given, but I don't know the exact
SQL syntax.

... 'LDAP://dc=central,dc=mydomain,dc=int''WHERE objectCategory =
''Person'';''Page Size''=50' ) doesn't work. Neither does the range parameter.

Somebody suggested that I should partition the query, asking first for all
userids starting with A, then B,... but I don't like that suggestion too much
and even if I would use it, the Like 'A%' doesn't work.

Does somebody have any experience with this?

Many thanks,

Jan
