  • 1. Use "% Of" in Field Settings
Hi, I have two measures in a given cell in an OLAP pivot tbl. How do I make the lower of the two (we'll call it B) a percentage of the upper one (A)? That is, in Excel parlance, where in the lower half of the cell there was simply B, now there's B/A. Thought I found what I needed in 1) right-click on an instance of B 2) Field Settings 3) Open Options 4) Change Normal to "% Of" and 5) select measure A in the box below "% Of". Except that what I get when I apply this is a bunch of #N/As in the B portion of the cells. pat

Drill through BUG - resource access error after installing SP4

Postby L M » Fri, 26 Aug 2005 02:44:02 GMT

Hi,

We have installed Analysis Services SP4 on a Windows 2003 server (SQL
Server and Analysis are on the same server).

Since that it seems we have a bug with drill through via security roles
when the option "Enforce on" is "Server" :

#-2147467259
Unable to drill through.
The operation requested failed due to security problems resource
access error.

It works well when we try it directly on the server ('Test role' button
in Cube Role Manager - Analysis services) but the error message appear
when we drill through from a client (MDAC) or another physical server
via Analysis Services ('Test role' button...).

We have copied the same OLAP database on another instance of Analysis
services (SP3 on another physical server Windows 2003) and it works
fine.

This issue doesn't exist when the "Enforce on" option is "Client".

To me it seems like a bug was introduced in SP4. Does anyone experience
this situation?

Thanks

Louis

1.HELP URGENT - Error 17832 after SQL 7 SP4 install and MS03-039 install

I have an application that was developed in an older version of VB (I think
4.0). The users are heavily dependent on this application (and of course,
no source code). Yesterday the users were able to connect to the SQL 7
database. Last night I ran the Service Pack 4 on the SQL 7 machine and
today the users are unable to connect. They just get an error message
(Invalid SQL Server Login). When I look in the error log on the server I
see Error: 17832, Severity: 18, State: 7 Connection opened but invalid
login packet(s) sent. Connection closed.

Also, the latest security patch from Microsoft (MS03-039) was installed on
the server that houses the database. It is running Windows 2000.
Thanks

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

2.Sql Server 2000 (NEW SP4 installed) Access ADO EXEC call fails when variable names are passed

Hello,

our sql server admins installed the SP4 to our sql 2000 database. Now
when we are using access ado to call a stored proc like so it
FAILS...(also this code was in place and working prior to the patch):

EXEC someproc_name @mydate = '12/4/2007', myint=2

however if I take out the variable names like so,

EXEC someproc_name '12/4/2007', 2

then it works...but this won't do as a work-a-round.

and...the proc (with variable names) still runs in SQL 2000 query
analyser, just not from access 2003 ADO.

anyone have a clue what I should start with?

PS, if there is only a SELECT in the stored proc, it will take the
variable names..but if there is an UPDATE OR INSERT IT FAILS

-thanks
