  • 1. SQL 2005 RTM Install Fail
    Intall VS 2005 RTM which went OK after reporting beta present. Provides option to remove all previous beta 2.0 items and removes (or reports removal of framework SQL 2005 Express etc) Just one error message about a return value from SQL express then VS seems fine but no SQL Express. Try and install SQL 2005 Pro RTM and this fails at the first hurdle reporting beta components present, however none show in Add and remove programmes. Looks like I need a laundry list of how to remove all traces of beta 2 components. Help!

    Hello I try to install SQL server 2005 but it fails when it looks for SqlBol.cab file that it doesn't exist anywhere. So I can't install it. Thank you
  • 3. Enterprise Manager on XP machine?
    I tried to install the Enterprise Manager on my XP Professional machine and got a message saying XP didn't support it. My IT guy says it's ok just make sure to install Service Pack 3 after. Has anyone else done this succesfully? I also lost all my ODBC drivers after starting then aborting the install. I'm not sure if one had anything to do with the other but it seemed kinda coincedental.
  • 4. Problem Installing SP4
    I have SQL 2000 with SP3a and I want to upgrade to SP4. I am currently running small business server with sp1. I have downloaded sql70sp4.exe. I have over 60 Gig of free hard disk space on drive c. When I try to run sql70sp4.exe I keep getting an error message saying that I need to free up 96 Meg and try again. I know I have plenty of hard disk space so it must be something else. I tried rebooting the server and I still get the same message. Any idea as to what is going on and how I can get this service pack installed. I am trying to load an application which requires sp4 in order to install. Thanks. Rick Bellefond RB Data Services

Sql Endpoint created but cannot access it

Postby Rajiv » Sat, 13 Jan 2007 05:33:48 GMT

I have created an endpoint at certain port# but I can't access it
thorugh IIS.

CREATE ENDPOINT GALACTIC_endpoint
STATE = STARTED
	AS	HTTP
		(
		SITE = '*',
		PATH = '/GALACTIC_EP',
		AUTHENTICATION = (INTEGRATED ),
		PORTS=(CLEAR),
		CLEAR_PORT=8085
		)
	FOR SOAP
		(
		WEBMETHOD 'sendBrokerLogMessageWebMethod'
			(
			Name = 'GALACTIC.dbo.sendBrokerLogMessage',
			SCHEMA = STANDARD
			),
		WSDL = DEFAULT,
		BATCHES = ENABLED,
		DATABASE = 'GALACTIC',
		NAMESPACE = 'http://GALACTIC/'
		)

Now I am trying to access it like this :
http://localhost:8085/GALACTIC_EP/
but no result , neither i can see it in Visual Studio.

Please suggest.
Thanks
Rajiv

Try:
GRANT CONNECT ON ENDPOINT::[GALACTIC_endpoint] to [domain\Rajiv] ;
GO
This is based on the BOL topic How to: Configure the Database Engine to
Listen on Multiple TCP Ports. I wrote that topic for a TSQL port and have
never played around with a SOAP port, but casual logic says this should
still be necessary. It's worth a try, anyway.
