  • 1. Solaris Printing
Hi, Hope you can help. I have an application that regularly pruduces batches of letters, places them in a print queue, which is served by a dedicated printer. Unfortunatley, the users of this system also have the ability to print reprints of letters. If they do this during the printing of a batch, their letter gets put right in the middle of it. Is there any way to prioritise jobs as they are put into a print queue. So that the batch can have a high priorty, and users low? Cheers, Peter.

3.fbsd 5.1 - need help local server setup and router/gateway on same system

Hi,

I have a fbsd 5.1 machine setup and i want to set it up as a system that
emulates an isp/webhosting server (with named / dhcpd / apache / proftpd /
ssh ) for my local development along with the system being a router/firewall

If anyone could provide me with some good knowledge or example conf files it

If you recommend any other server daemons instead of the ones i have listed

Thanks in advance,

There are several Free products in the Firewalling department.
Assuming you are interested in Windows Firewalls, try Jetico.
It's been tested one of the better firewall solutions, free AND
commercial. For Windows, that is.

The popular ZoneAlarm Free edition sort of s*cks, and the XP SP2 Windows
firewall is useless. A false sense of security is perhaps worse than
knowing you're open to anyone...

But this is running way off-topic in c.o.l.m.
