Yes, it's bad. May I ask _why_ you're using a piece of equipment that
requires yearly replacement of a component, is most likely critical to
your storage, and it's not on contract? Do you even bother backing it
up?

I'll never understand why some companies are penny wise and pound
foolish, buying expensive equipment and no support contract to replace
it, relying on chicken wire, chewing gum, eBay, and an admin with lots
of free time to fix their mistakes.
