  • 1. Alt-GR freezes for a few seconds the VM????
Hello, in my Windows 98 virtual machine (VPC 2004) I can't seem to be able to use Alt-GR to print those characters that require the Alt-GR to be pressed in conjunction to another key. And when I do my virtual machine stops responding for a few seconds. I have seen that I can use the combination Crtl + Alt + other key to obtain the same result but I was wondering if this is the correct behavior or not and if there is a workaround. Also is this due to the fact that Alt-GR is used in conjunction with other keys for menu shortcuts???? Bob Rock
  • 2. How to use Recovery Console in VPR for Mac?
I need to run the WinXP recovery console on a Mac G4 Tower running Virtual PC 6.1. On an actual PC, you'd do this by booting from the Windows installation CD. However, Virtual PC no longer includes a separate Windows disc. So what does one do if the boot.ini file gets screwed up or some other bootup glitch develops? • 4. Virtual PC 2004 License?
What is the most economical way to get a license for VPC 2004? I will need the program on both a notebook and desktop. Can I buy one copy and use on both machines, or is this not allowed? Thanks.

Guest OS - 2003 Server: Remote Desktop Connection Access?

Postby QWNoaWxsZXMgSGVhbA » Sun, 07 Nov 2004 04:40:08 GMT

I'm running Virtual PC 2004 SP1 on a host Win XP SP2 system and a guest 2003
Server OS. I have enabled Remote Desktop access in 2003 Server, but cannot
seem to Remote Desktop to the virtual machine.

Does anyone know if there's a problem doing this? Is there any added
configuration issues I need to take into account?

Thanks.

How is the networking configured? Can you ping the server from the host?
Any firewall software running on either system?

Thanks for replying. Sorry I didn't respond sooner - got busy this weekend.

I can ping the server from the host. In addition, I can access IIS pages
from the host. There's not 3rd party firewall running on either system. I
also check whether Microsoft's firewall is enabled - and it's not.

I can do this without any problems. Do other large networking
operations works? (like transferring files between the VM and the host?)

Did you enable remote connections on the server? By defualt it is disabled.
I believe you right click My Computer...Properties and there should be a
remote tab. Click the box to enable remote connections.
