  • 1. FILE SIZE LIMITS!? IMPORTING FROM OTHER VISIO FILES?
I have 80 11" x 17" pages of schematics that I am thinking about putting into one file. The file will gradually grow over time but shouldn't exceed 150 pages. Before I go about doing this and possibly waisting my time, I want to know if anyone knows of number-of-page or file-size limits. I've read of 400+ pages, but still, I would like to find out if a 100 page document will be slow or cumbersome. Also, could someone please tell me how to import a sheet from one visio file into another. Thanks
  • 2. Using 'variables' in Visio drawings?
Hi, I have over 400 pages in my Visio file. I would like to use numbers in many of the pages and these numbers should be set in a 'common' page or property field. The result should be that only by updating these numbers (variables) in one location, all the other pages have their numbers updated to this value (like a variable). Is this possible in Visio 2003? • 3. Can I link Notepad text file to Visio Standard 2002 SR-1?
I have two questions: A. How to have Visio Standard 2002 SR-1 move a notepad text file fro one directory to another directory? B. How to pull notepad data with Visio Standard 2002 SR-1 int Entivity? I have a PC with Entivity Studio; this same PC is going to have process analyzer dumping a Notepad text file to the C drive. Th analyzer adds new data to this file about every five minutes, or i will create a new file if one is not there. Somehow I need to grab thi data and display it on the Entivity HMI. To make sure I always grab the most current data, I was thinking o moving the entire text file to another directory, and display the dat that I moved. For instance move C:\analyzer data (from analyzer) t C:\Entivity data (for pulling into Entivity) Each time the analyzer dumps new a data file I will need Entivity vi Visio Standard 2002 SR-1 see that there is a new data file and go mov it. Is this possible, if so please are there any examples
  • 4. different versions in visio ole-object?
hello i have some problems printing a word document which includes some visio drawingns. In word i can see the visio object like i edited it but when printing the word-document, a completly old version of the visio object is printed out. The printed object is older that 2 weeks. I tryed printing the document from other PC without changes. I tryed copying the ole-object into an other word dokument (copy/paste) without changes. Printing the document from wordpad works great .... I also opened the visio object (doublecklick in word) and edited the object, saved the file and exited back to word. the object gets updated, but when printing ... no changes. againe the old version. The word document was generated as an export from DOORS 6 and i am using Word 2002 SP3 and includes many vision objects (somthing about 100-200 drawings). Dose anyone else know this problem and knows how to solve it? (till now i have to open every object, copy all objects in visio (mark all/cut/paste) and repaste them in visio and then exit back to word, in order to get the printing updated). Can anyone tell me if visio saves some kind of versions inside an ole-object? It seems like this must be, as word prints out an old version of the drawing(s). PS: not all visio objects are "corrupted" just some.

You're not seeing the pan & zoom control at all?

Two ideas:

1. If opening in IE, are you clicking the annoying yellow bar at the top of
the page that says "security! security! blah blah!" ??
2. If not in IE, then your browser probably doesn't support these features.
Bummer. The "cool features" in the Visio Save As Web feature are very
IE-specific.

2.Pan & Zoom widget not added to web page

I select the Pan&Zoom checkbox in the Publish options, but the widget is not
added to the saved web page. Everything else works fine (including all the
other options). I used to be able to add pan&zoom, but something must have
changed and now I cannot.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I can check?

Thank you,

Ray

3.Retaining "zoom" settings on page changes via hyperlinks (Visio: Save as Web Page)

New to Visio and Web technologies.

I have created a multi-page flowchart which I save as Web Page(s).

Within Visio, when defining a hyperlink there is no facility on the 'Sub
Address: Browse: Zoom' control to allow the selection of "current zoom"
(understandably perhaps, as this parameter can be defined at 'run-time').

What I want to do is retain the currently selected Zoom setting and have it
applied to all pages that are subsequently displayed via hyperlinks (in the
web environment).

I've no doubt that this was once a common question - but my searches have
not come up with an answer.

4.Saving to Web creates 27 files even when Publishing options set to

Hi, I'm using Visio 2003 and would like to save a Visio file to a Web page
with a single graphic (no frames), which contains hyperlinks to other
graphics on other Web pages. When I save a .vsd file to Web (.htm), I get 27
files regardless of whether the default Publishing options are selected or
deselected (Details, Go To Page, Search Pages, and Pan and Zoom).

Is there a way to save/export without creating all 27 files? I need only 3
files; for example, filename.htm, filename_gif_1.htm, and filename_gif_1.gif.
