I have a Word 2003 doc that has a Visio flowchart image inserted. I insert the "less than or equal to symbol" in Visio, save it, but when I get back to Word, it shows an "equal" symbol. How do I get the Visio chart in the Word doc to retain my inserted symbol?
  • 2. Import AutoCad drawings with CAD objects
I'm using AutoCAD 2000i (with the Autodesk Architectural Desktop 3.3 Object Enabler plug-in [ADT330] installed) and Visio 2003 Pro. One particular CAD drawing I'm working with has objects in it that can only be viewed in CAD b/c I have ADT330 installed. I'd like to import this drawing into Visio, but when I try, all the objects (walls, doors, stairs, etc) that are only viewable with the ADT330 plug-in don't show up. Anybody have suggestions or ideas on how I can get Visio to understand the objects? Thanks!!

I am trying to follow the instructions to create a Web Site Diagram, but when I select NEW, under the File menu, Web Diagrams is not one of my choices. I'm using Visio Standard 2003? Is there a way to add diagrams as options in Visio?

you have to save them in a format that the other office files can read, or
import them as visio objects into the other documents.

1.I need to convert Visio 2003 files to Visio 2002, can this be done

File > Save As, then choose Visio 2002 whatever from the lower drop-down
list.

I believe the files will "round trip" back to 2003.

The file format for 2002 contained enough place-holders for information that
was predicted to be needed for 2003. So 2003 writes a 2002 file with extra
info. 2002 reads the file, but doesn't know what to do with some of the
information and simply ignores it.

2.Visio should allow 3D views of office and room layouts

3.No namespace Microsoft.Office.Interop.Visio.Application

I download the Visio2003 SDK, and the version of Office Visio is
11.5509.6568 (with SP2).

An application(Visio add-on) created by the wizard within VS.NET 2003, the
code has
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Visio.Application, But there should be
Visio.Application!

Why does it?

And, Can only use the Wizard of VisioSDK to create application "Visio
add-on"?

4.Repost: Office 2007 Applications Automation and Visio 2010 Conflict

Repost for potential MVP help.

I have Visio models that call Excel and Access explicitly. The models
work fine with Office 2007/Visio 2007 and with the proper application
Reference Library added to the VBA projects.

However, the code fails with Visio 2010. I tracked the problem down
to some kind of conflict between the Office 12 object library
associated with 2007 and the Office 14 library installed with Visio
2010 Beta.

Removal of Visio 2010 and the associated Office 14 library makes the
problem go away.

But now of course I can't continue to test Visio 2010 and still work
on my existing models.

Anybody have any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks Much,

SteveM

5.Available fonts in Visio vs other Office applications

Not likely. These fonts types are not supported by the rendering technology
used in Visio.
