Where do I find generic structured cable and mainframe symbols. One solution I found was the Seimon site with equipment specific to their line of products, but that won't do. Although telecommunications is not new to me, this program is, so any help would be most appreciated. An old dog, learning new tricks... Ken

I use the Org Chart Wizard to generate my org charts based on an Excel spreadsheet. I spend lots of time entering the specific names and levels for each page, where it should break, etc. I was hoping there was a simple method to use for the next time I need to update the org chart - without having to start all over with a new spreadsheet. I know in Access, you can easily generate new reports based on whatever information is contained in the tables. Is there a similar process for Visio. I want to keep the same structure, page names, etc. - just have it gather its information from a NEW source document. Thanks.

How do I divide two work sections of employees under one manager? I tried arranging the first set of staff under a vertical alignment and wrapping a team frame around them, but when I add positions to create the 2nd team, they are aligned the same. If I arrange the employees horizontally, members are randomly assigned to the left or right, breaking the team arrangments.

Arc of fixed radius

Postby U3dhbnNlYSBKYWNr » Wed, 17 Sep 2008 18:32:05 GMT

Hi All

I'd like to draw an arc [i.e. a segment of a circle] of fixed radius and
length [e.g. 90 degree arc with a radius of 100mm] - is there a simple way to
do this ?

It is to connect to perpendicular lines together as part of an engineering
drawing, so it needs to be accurate. I guess there is a way to do this, but I
just can't see it !!!

I'm using Visio 2003.

Thanks :)

Have a look in the Drawing Tool Shapes stencil (Pro version, not
Standard) or use the shape search for 'Arc - numeric'.

Thanks Paul,

Arc.Numeric2 seems to do the trick !

Posted links for archives of the Radius VideoVision nubus card software
are all dead. We just acquired a Quadra 950 equipped with this board
as well as two SuperMAC Thunder II ver 3.0.0 cards. The system drive
(2GB Barracuda) is dead (heads won't load, drive 'pings' every two
seconds) so we have to find the software for these boards elsewhere.

All help is very much appreciated.

4.Curve radius

I use Visio 2000 (SP2) and have Accident Reporting and Crime Scene
add-ins to create scale diagrams of traffic accident scenes. Is there
any way to automate curve length, chord and radius? Any tip that allows
the use of the "Size & Position" window would be most helpful, but any
tip at all will be appreciated!
I have used Visio since 2000 came out and am comfortable with it, i.e.,
I can use it to automate other shapes, but I dont see any where to
automate curves!!!
Thank you in advance!

5.Control radius of rounded corners

Is there a way to control the radius of rounding for the rounded
corners of a rectangle? I opened up the shape sheet, and it looks
like it might be controlled in the "Geometry 1" table. Ideally, I'd
like the rounding radius to scale with the minimum of the height and
width, but manually specifying it would be just as good.
