import pictures with filename

Postby Messlinger » Wed, 21 Jul 2004 18:02:08 GMT

hello,

is there a way to import pictures in visio with the complete filename.
If i import gif files, they all are named "Mastershape". Ie got thousends
of files to import. Do i have to rename them picture by picture????

My second question is if it is possible to import complete Folders with
Pictures in Visio. The foldername should be the name of the template, and
the files
in the folders should be in this folders with their original filename.

Ie got 6000 Pictures to import.

Please help me!

Thank you

Hallo,

umbenennen?

You can use VBA to import the gifs and should be able to use a more
appropriate name. With VBA you can also search file directories (and sub
directories) for files.

There are some examples at www.mvps.org/visio/VBA.htm

3.Creating Master Shapes from Imported Pictures

Greetings,

I'm in desparate need of help. I'm in the process of creating a stencil of
network equipment that my company has deployed. I've been fortunate to find
a number of the shapes on line. Unfortunately, some of the equipment is
obsolete, BUT I have pictures. Here's my question: How would I create
master shapes of these pictures to be used in Visio 2003. I've downloaded
ShapeStudio and played around with that but I can't seem to get it correct.
As a reference, I'm trying to duplicate what one would find on NetZoom. What
are the steps in creating a master shape? I've gone through the tutorial
that is supplied with ShapeStudio but unfortunately that tutorial doesn't
apply. Has anyone created master shapes from pictures?

Thanks for any input.

4.scale drawing to imported picture (scan of plan)

Hi group,

This is what I'm doing:
New drawing, Home Plan (Metric) stencil.
I set the scale manually (to 74.5 mm = 3750 mm)
I have measured this scale from the plan before scanning.
Now when I measure some distance I get 4050 mm = 4350 mm.
This should be 4350 = 4350 mm

How can I correct my scale to reflect measurements correctly?

Thanks a lot!
