I created a network diagram in Visio 2003 Pro. My Shapes sheet had all the network shapes like computers and monitors, Servers, Active Directory Objects, etc. Now when I open this drawing my shapes sheet is empty. I have to go to Files ->Shapes -> Network and reopen each shape sheet every time I open this drawing. I have created new Network Diagrams since and the shapes always stay in those diagrams. What do I have to do to get the shape sheets to stay in this document?

We are using Visio Standard 2002 SP 2 I happen to like the shapes window at the left side of the screen. Unfortunately, I often cannot get it back once I close it. How do I reopen this window?
  • 3. Diagram has "slid" off the page and will not stay when moved back
Visio 2007 I am a very new user of Visio. I have a diagram that was prepared by someone who is no longer with the company. On some of the diagrams, the boxes have slid off the "swim lanes". When I attempt to move them back on the page, they pop back where they were. Any ideas as to why this is??
  • 4. Generating Diagrams from Files and Folders?
I have a folder containing 13 sub folders with a total file count of 2,445 text files. Each of these text files extends off another text file which may either be of the same sub folder or another one within the directory of sub folders. How can I go about generating a diagram of how they all link together?

Visio 2007 Error Upon Exit

Postby aXphYWNv » Thu, 24 Jul 2008 01:59:03 GMT

Hi,

Each time I exit from Visio 2007, an error occurs stating that MS Visio has
stopped working and needs to be restarted.

I surfed the web and realised that the problem can be resolved by disabling
the Send to Bluetooth COM Add-Ins.

However, when I attempt to remove/deselect the Add-In, a dislog box pops up
saying "The connected state of Office Add-Ins registered in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE cannot be changed".

May I know how to go above resolving this problem?

Would be great if anyone can help.

Running on Vista Business, Visio 2007.

Thank you!!

iz.

I think that this is due to permission.
Are you an Administrator?
Try logging in as an Administrator, or start Visio as an Administrator

Hi David,

Thank you so much. It worked!! Previously I was running Visio as an
administrator but that did not helped.

I had to go into program files, MS Office, right click on Visio and run as
administrator before I can disable the bluetooth COM Add-In.

Now Visio can finally exit with errors. Sometimes Vista's security measures
can really get on my nerves.

Thanx so much!! =)

1.Visio 2007 does not exit cleanly - 100% CPU on new Vista install

I have Vista Ultimate and installed Visio 2007 Professional.
When I exit Visio 2007, it does not exit and takes up over 100% of CPU on my
dual-core HP Pavilion dv9000t notebook. TaskManager shows VISIO.EXE in the
background.

I checked what it was doing with procmon from sysinternals.com -
Thread 192 is doing a QueryNameInformationFile with Result SUCCESS on Path
C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\OFFICE12\MSO.DLL
It is scanning this file repeatedly for some reason and causing high CPU.

Appreciate any help in resolving this.

2.Visio 2007 Crashes when exiting app on Vista Business x64

Whenever I exit Visio on my Vista Business x64 platform, the application
crashes and pops the window asking to

"Close Program and Restart"
or
"Check online for a solution and Restart"

We are running 5 identical laptops (Lenovo T61) with the exact same result.

This only seems to happen in Vista x64 as well.

Has anyone seen this issue or know if it is a known bug?

Worked great!
I was also able to just disable the Send to Bluetooth under COM Add-ins and
Exit - the process exits cleanly.

Thanks.

5.Visio 2007 Pro on Vista crashes on exit

Hi all,

I'm running Visio Pro 2007 SP1 on Vista Business. Visio seems to behave
normally until the user exits at which points I get the non-descript Vista
message that Visio has stopped working with the following information:

>Source: Application Error
>Event ID: 1000
>Task Category: (100)
>Level: Error
>Keywords: Classic

This doesn't seem to be causing any other problems and Visio seems to
otherwise function properly. I'm unable to find any information on this from
Microsoft.

I appreciate any ideas.
