I am trying to use the flowchart wizard to chart a manufacturing process. I am trying to enter the data in an excel spreadsheet to import in as the wizard recommends and the import is failing as the names in the master name and the shape are in conflict somewhere...can someone help me define what exactly is to be entered in these fields please?

If by "generate" you mean "can a user draw" such a diagram, the answer is yes. If by "generate" you mean "automagically draw from external data source", then no. -- Lori Pearce Longhorn SDK Team "Julian" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM > wrote in message news: XXXX@XXXXX.COM ... > > >

Hi, I am new to visio. I would like to use it to map out my website and be able to drill down to the backend access/sql database, both from a visio document and web page. Any suggestions on how best to do this? Thanks! PS. Eventually, I want to take the maps/data and use them in documentation.

Divider Lines?

Postby Qi4gTGV2aWVu » Sat, 23 May 2009 01:29:03 GMT

I received a Visio Chart from someone else outside of my office that I need
to revise. I have used Visio, but am NOT a proficient user (I know enough to
draw shapes, add text, and lines, but that's about it).

There is a horizontal line in the middle of the square or rectangle shape
which stays in the middle of the shape (squares/rectangles). The line does
not go all the way across the shape (it leaves "blank" space at each end).

I use Visio 2003, but I do not know what version was used to create this
particular document. It was based on a .vst file. I believe there are macros
in the document, but am uncertain what they.

I tried to right click the shape, and choose Hide Divider Line, but that
doesn't seem to have any effect.

Does anyone know what this could be?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you right-click on the shape and select Format / Special, what does it
say the "Master" is?

Also, if you select File / Properties / General tab, what is the "Based on"

Best regards

Sounds like one of the Visio Orgchart shapes.
To start with, what version of Visio are you using and is there an Orchart

1.Divider Line in Shape in Org Chart

Dear Folks:

I have made an org chat where I separate the job title from the employee
name with a "divider line."

In the help menu I can find instructions on how to make that line dissappear
and reappear by right clicking on the shape and accessing a menu. I found no
information on how to position or reposition that divider line.

My problem is that the title often takes two lines of text while the name
invariably takes one. As a result the divider line appears in between the
two lines of job title instead of separating the job title from the
individual who fills it.

How do I fix this?

2.How do I remove the Divider Line?

I am creating an org charge with just company names. Therefore, I do not
need to add in a title. How do I remove the divider line so that it will
center in the box better.

3.Divider Line

Dear Folks:

None of the support Documents tell me how to reposition the divider line
inside an Org. Chart shape.

I'm editing an existing org chart.

If the title is longer than one line the divider line should move down to
accomodate it. In some boxes it does, in others it incorrectly puts the
divider line after the first line of text.

Is there a way to specify where the divider line should fall?

4.Organization Chart - Divider lines

Hi everybody,
I have a question about that divider line in the organization chart shapes.
When the first property in the shape doesn't fit in one single line, the
divider won't appear between the first and second property, but between the
first and second line. That is cutting many employees' position in two
The only solution I found was to make the first property fit into one line.
Alas, I am automatizing the organization chart creation and having this
programmatically is fairly uneasy. Isn't there other way of solving this

Thank you for taking the time to answer me.

5.Moving a Divider line

I am using Visio 2003 to create an org chart. I would like to move the
divider line to be after the second line of text (before the third). I can't
find any information for how to do so. Please advise.
