  • 1. Missing BeforeShapeDelete event in VBA ThisDocument
Problem: Missing BeforeShapeDelete event in VBA ThisDocument Visio 2007 SP2 Windows XP SP3 For VBA editor, ThisDocument has ShapeAdded which it created a Document_ShapeAdded. I then looked in the drop down list for BeforeShapeDelete, but it is not there. Where is it? Thanks in advance.
  • 2. Shape Data dialog events
What I would like to do is to handle events for specific cells in the Shape Data screen as they happen. I have three fixed-list type combo boxes that rely on each other. I populate the combos for one shape, then when the user is looking at the Shape Data dialog and changes it, I need to capture that event right then to populate the others based on the first's selection. Every event I add seems to only be captured on close of the Shape Data dialog though. Through the C# interface I added both the CellChanged and the FormulaChanged event handlers to the cell. They get fired when the Shape Data closes. How can I get them to fire at the moment the data changes?

  • 4. Org Chart Wizard command DISPLAY-FIELDS seems not working.
Hi, I am tasked to automate organization chart generation with Visio 2007 SP2. I tried the following command line: OrgWiz.exe /MICROSOFT-EXCHANGE /PAGES=bsmith 3 /CUSTOM-PROPERTY-FIELDS=Name,Title,Telephone /DISPLAY-FIELDS=Name,Title Everything works fine except the title is not displayed in the shape. It seems somehow the setting for DISPLAY-FIELDS is ignored. Tried lots of things and even edited the wizard registry key directly, but none of them worked. Any help will be really appreciated! Thanks, Bill
  • 5. Unknown errorcode with COMException
Hi all, When I try opening a Visio document from my console application using IVDocuments.OpenEx(string FileName, short Flags) everything works fine. But if I try the same line within a timerjob in SharePoint 2007 I get a COMException with the message "An exception occured.", null for InnerException and -2032463768 as the ErrorCode. However I can not find any description from the ErrorCode at all. Does anyone know what this error code means?

Line Pattern display, Line jumps and connectors

Postby QW5kZXJz » Thu, 05 Oct 2006 21:46:02 GMT

I am designing connectors for use in my companys diagrams and have found some
"funny" differences between Visios standard Line Patterns and my own custom
Line Patterns (tiledeformed and scaled - PatternFlag=&H41).
An explanation would be very much appreciated.

Connectors using standard line patterns will add automatic line jumps when
crossing but connectors using custom line patterns will NOT add automatic
line jumps - otherwise no difference between the connectors

Connectors/Lines using custom line patterns always has "something visible"
at corners and ends but connectors using standard line patterns sometimes has
"nothing" (a gap in the pattern) at corners/ends.

In a previous post I have been told that Visio uses the GDI+ engine to
control the display of the line patterns - hence the possibility of "nothing"
at corners/ends.
But why then are my custom line patterns treated differently.

My main problem of course is that I would like to have both automatic line
jumps and "something visible" at corners/ends but don't know how to get it.

I just realised that line jumps using ARC are working with custom line
patterns. I was using GAP - and would also prefer that, but I guess maybe I
will have to settle for ARC.

1.Q Visio-Style Connectors in PowerPoint (with the jumps over other lines)

Is it possible to create Visio-style connectors in PowerPoint, where a
connector will make a little jump over any connector it crosses over to
which it is not supposed to be attached? I'm working on a slide that
requires such lines between objects, and I can't figure out how to do
it within PowerPoint.

Any help would be much appreciated.

2.Line jumps on curved connectors?

I've been struggling with getting line connectore to work. I just realized
that they don't seem to work with curved connectors. If I change back to a
right angle connector and move the connector slightly the line jumps show up.
But never for curved connectore, even if the PAge Setup-->LAyout and
RTouting --? appearance is set to curved.

Any clues?

3.How set connector Line Jumps in Visio 2003?

Using Visio 2003, creating flow charts. Need to have connectors show Line
Jumps at intersections of connectors. Tried both the "Page Setup" and
"Dynamic Connector" settings from Help. Neither one works, I cannot get Line
Jumps. Also, in "Help" for setting jump style for an individual connector,
it states to click the "Connector" tab -- mine does not even have a Connector
tab displayed.

How can I create Line Jumps?

5.Why do my line jumps dissapear when I use a custom line pattern on dynamic connectors?

Why do my line jumps dissapear when I use a custom line pattern on dynamic

When I'm using Visio to draw process flow diagrams I always use dynamic
connectors because it automatical generates line jumps. This feature works
ok if I use 'standard' line patterns. Recently I learned how to make and use
custom line patterns so I would be able to visualise the different media
flowing through the pipes. But, bummer, my line jumps have disappeared!
Does anybody knows how to get them back?
