I'm installing Visio 5.0 Plus on Windows XP Pro. At the end of the installation I get a message box, "Visio is incompatible with this version of Windows. For more information, contact Microsoft. To run the program, click continue." So I click continue and restart XP, start running Visio 5.0 Plus with Visio 4.5 generated files and don't see any problems yet. What is the compatibility issue? Thanks!

I havent used WBS Modeller before and the web page talks about a project to
visio exchange, will it do what I need? The Excel to Visio bit?

Cheers
Marcus

I beg your pardon Marcus, I assumed you were using MS Project .... WBS
Modeler does not work with Excel directly.

Ah that explains my confusion, thank you. I know the Org Chart Wizard imports
from an excel file, is there any wizard that would help or is this a new
request to MS Support to create a new one?

Many thanks

1.Mulitple level (4 level) visio org chart from excel - possible?

Guys
Am using Visio 2003.

I have a four level org chart (actually a Project Work Breakdown Structure)
in an excel file that I want to convert to a Visio diagram. Using the wizard
it only allows two fields to report into each other, what I want is level 1
reports into level 2, into L3 into Level 4. Is this possible?

Many Thanks

2.Org chart levels in Visio

Is it possible to add a level between two existing levels in a Visio org chart?

3.Org Chart Colours on Levels

Hi there

I am drawing up an org chart for a large organisation. The org chart goes
down about 10 layers from top management to bottom. I noticed that the ORG
chart Wizard, (importing Excel Data) automatically makes the Executive box
shaded and managers also appear to have a double frame.

I then Noticed I could also change the "org chart theme" between "Classic"
and "Contemporary"

What I actually wish to do is colour each level of the org chart in a
different colour (automatically).

Is there an easy way to do this?

Regards
C

4.Assigning new Org chart object to a higher level object

Am using VBA to process a spreadsheet of employees to update Visio org
charts. Want to be able to add new employees to the Visio org charts
and connect them to the correct supervisor. I have all the data
elements I need in my spreadsheet to identify "who" they will belong
to.

I can drop the new "position" org chart block onto my chart, but I
can't figure out how to get the block attached to the correct
supervisor. At the time that I drop the block onto the chart, my
active element in the chart is the correct supervisor. But I can't
figure out how to calculate the correct "X" and "Y" to feed into the
drop, so that the new block ends up in the correct place.

I've gone through the info in the Developer Reference in Visio and in
the language references online. Don't have access to the full SDK and
can't install it anyways.

Any suggestions or pointers?

Jennifer

5.Org Chart 2003 - Save As defaults to top level dir

After using the wizard to create a new Visio Org Chart, Save As opens to the
My Computer level and I have to decend 7 levels *back* to where I just saved
the previous 'new' drawing I created. Is there somewhere I can 'turn on' the
last directory viewed memory in the application? I have thousands of drawings
to create and many are in the same directory.
