  • 1. Maintaining Physically Identical Intervals Over Multiple Timelines
    If I drag a timeline object onto my Visio page and configure it to display the date range 1 June 2006 through 1 January 2007, Visio will display the timeline with 6 equally spaced intervals. If I then reconfigure the timeline to display 1 June 2006 through 1 June 2007, the default behavior is that the length of the timeline overall remains the same and the length of each interval is cut in half. Is there any way to make the default behavior maintain the same physical length for each interval and expand the overall length of the timeline instead? Or perhaps there's a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to do. What I want to do is put a major timeline of at least a couple of years across the top of the page and then track an entire portfolio of projects against that timeline. Each project would be an individual timeline below the major one, and each would start and end at different times. And if 6 individual projects in the portfolio are all running concurrently on several months, I want all 6 to have their common monthly intervals line up on the same vertical axes (June to June, July to July, etc.). This would require that the physical spacing of one month interval lines on each timeline be identical. Any suggestions? Thanks...
  • 2. visio upgrade move to a new computer
    Hello, I'm trying to finally move for real to a computer I've had for a while. I bought Office Pro 2003 to put on the new computer, but now I need Visio as well, and I don't really want to buy another new one. I have V2002 running with my Office 2000 installation on the old computer, but it's an upgrade version. And, I can't immediately lay my hands on the older product CD -- I'm not sure I still have it. Is there a way for me to install this product on my newer computer, or am I screwed? Thanks, JeanneB

I am having a problem with Visio not printing the last character

Postby RmFiaW8 » Sat, 02 Jul 2005 06:43:09 GMT

I have a 8200 Xerox printer and it will not print the last character in a
word. It will cut off about half of the last character in a word.

I also have a 850 printer and it works fine. You would think it would
printer related but some drawings where the font is smaller, like 10 pt, it
works fine. Font like 100 pt get's cut off in the 8200 only.

Does anyone have a idea?

4.Having footer reflect date of last edit/revision?

Hi there,

I have a spreadsheet that uses a custom footer as follows;

"Last Revised: & [Date} & [Time]"

However using this custom footer when this spreadsheet is viewed with Print
Preview the date always reflects the current system date/time not the date
the spreadsheet was last edited/updated/revised which is what I want.

Also if the spreadsheet is just opened to be viewed when closing the
spreadsheet I am prompted;

"Do you want to save the changes you made to 'Spreadsheet'?"

...which can be confusing as sometimes it can be difficult to know whether
changes were made or not!

Not only that but it is impossible to verify which version people are using
as the date/time reflects the time it was opened on their systems.

ISTR that it did not always behave like that but I could of course be

Is there a way to have this footer reflect the date the spreadsheet was
actually edited/updated/revised and retain that date/time until such times
as it is actually edited/updated/revised and not just viewed?

Thanks & regards,
