  • 1. Protect Document (lock shapes)...programmatically
In Visio 2000, you can go to the Drawing Explorer and select Protect Document to lock down all the shapes and connectors on a drawing so they can't be moved around. I'm using Visio via the C++ wrapper classes in a custom application and need to do this programmatically. I can't find a way to use the provided objects to do this. Can this be done? Can I use this function programmatically? Thanks!

  • 3. Zoom problems when editing Visio2003 in Word2003
Hi: I have a diagram in Visio 2002 copied to a Word 2003SP1 document. When I edit the diagram, Word open a window in the document but the zoom resolution is too short. When I try to change the resolution I can not do it because Word change the resolution of all the document, not only the diagram. This behavior did not happen in Word XP with Visio 2002. Any Ideas ? Anybody know if the SP1 of Visio 2003 solve this problem ?
  • 4. Visio internal error: #2107 with Visio 5 on Windows XP
I just upgraded my parents to a new computer with Windows XP. I installed their copy of Visio 5 on the new computer and ignored the message telling me that it wouldn't work on this version of windows. However, anytime we try to print, we get Visio internal error: #2107. They have a Lexmark X1150 printer - which is also new. Any ideas? Thanks

Problem: text hosed when converting to CAD

Postby Bob Carswell » Sat, 24 Jan 2004 08:31:45 GMT

When I try to convert Visio 2000 Technical drawing to
CAD .dwg the fonts and text format convert improperly. I
create a text block on Visio drawing. When converted to
CAD the TABS & CARRIAGE RETURNS appear as "?" (question
marks) so my format, paragraphing , etc. is hosed and it
makes thetext very hard to interpret when viewed in
AUTOCAD. Also, the size of the font changes, gets larger.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....

2.Convert CAD drawings - saves as wrong scale - help

I use Visio 2003 Professional to convert CAD drawings (provided by
Architects) to maintain simplified floor plans of our facilities and to
calculate space areas.

Up until recently this process has worked fine. ie using Visio to open and
convert a CAD drawing to Visio format.
This process no longer works correctly for the newer CAD drawings, (version
2002 and later). The drawing will convert but the "scale" is no longer
accurate. In sense making the drawing useless.

Is there something that should be done or I should know to fix this??

3.Converting Cad R14

When I insert the cad file and do the "convert" process I end up with all the varous layers in "display". However only the "cad drawing" layer is a visible layer. All the others are blank. Problem is the cad layer is one "grouped" layer and you cannot work with it.

Any advise on how to work successfully with cad r14 would be appreciated.

Cheers !!!
