  • 1. ODBC XML: select statement syntax?
Hi all, probably is a poor question but I can't find a solution... I setup a ODBC DSN with a http location but when I try to connect from CR 9 I don't know the SELECT statement syntax. These are my settings: Table hint: /viewentries Row hint: ./viewentry Then I add a new SQL command and I try to type: SELECT * from viewentries SELECT * from xml.viewentries SELECT * from viewentry SELECT * from xml.viewentry but CR 9 is unable to generate a rowset. Using Access I can import 2 tables from the ODBC DSN: xml.viewentries and xml.viewentry. Does someone knows the right syntax??? Thanks in advance
  • 2. How to copy and paste the Crystal Report Design? - URGENT
hi there, i am working a crystal report which consists of 3 pages, each page has the same row and column, and the only difference is the title, some wordings and the data dymantically generated. I have completed the design for the 1 page already, just wonder how i can copy the 1 page's design, and paste to make the 2rd and 3rd pages so i only need to make minimum change? It leads to another question, how can i insert page breaks among pages? I want to be able to print those 3 pages separately. (I don't have sort, or group functions in these pages, only simple fields, and totals info.) Your prompt response is appreciated. lz
  • 3. can Crystal pass params to proc, & display results in aspx?
I want my page to display a crystal report -- that has a stored proc as a datasource. Can I pass params to Crystal, which then passes the params to the sproc & displays the data back in the report -- embedded on my aspx page? I was thinking of using Crystal 9.2 which we have here, .NET 2003. TY Jason Shohet

  • 5. CR V7 : Show SQL Query
Hi i am trying to change an existing report template using CR V7. I need to change the SQL statement. i went to SHow SQL Query and add in the fields' name manually at the select statement. But when i came out and re go in to Show SQL Query again, the fields just cannot be stored. As a result, the field on the report is always a blank. This is because the SQL query does not have this field at all. May i know is this a bug in CR V7 ? Thank you Boon Yiang

Report Width

Postby John Smith » Wed, 14 Dec 2005 07:04:45 GMT

Hello all:

Is there anyway to increase the page width size of reports in Crystal
for .NET? I was able to get to 11 inches width by changing the
orientation to landscape but I need to go to 17 if possible.

Thanks,

John

It's picked up off the dfault printer.
So you could install a printer (driver) of some sort allows pages 17
inches wide and set that to default.
Bit of a problem on anyone else's computer though.

hi,

At design time there is an option to set the page setup type. If the
page size is taken as 'Legal' it provides a big area to draw the
report.

Thanks

1.Data Report - report width is larger than the paper width

Hi there,

I have a VB6 application that uses Data Reports in landscape
orientation.

The reports are generated perfectly when the application runs on a
laptop with a printer installed AND attached.

However when the printer is disconnected from the laptop, the VB6
application is unable to produce the report. The following error is
raised:
"report width is larger than the paper width"

Can anyone can tell me how to resolve this?

Many Thanks

2.datareport: 'report width is larger than the paper width'

Hi,

When showing a datareport, I've found that this error occurs if a
printer is not installed AND physically connected to the computer.

"report width is larger than the paper width"

If a printer is installed and connected, then the error does not
occur.

Can anyone tell me why this happens, and how to prevent it?

TIA

3.Report Width Is Larger Than Paper Width

I have a VB6 application that is using the report designer (DSR). The report works fine on all machines except one which gives the user an error "Report Width Is Larger Than Paper Width". The report was working fine up until three weeks ago. I tightened up the report, made all margins 0, and looked in the knowledge base but the user still gets the error message. Has anyone run into this before? If so, what did you do to resolve it

Thanks

Crystal Report Width On Screen Issue

I have built a crystal report in Visual studio 2003 and i am now able
to display the report on my screen using a .net crystal report viewer.
The problem that i have is that the crystal report is displayed with a
lot of white space down each side in the viewer. This is making the
user of my application scroll horizontally to view the full report
data.

Can anyone help me by letting me know how to remove the whitespace and
only display the report that i have built.

Many thanks
