  • 2. Help! - Can't Deploy WinAp Crystal 10 - .NET security: Attempted operation not allowed
    I have created a very simple windows application in VB.NET which runs fine on my development machine, but when I put it on my end user's machine, the application itself runs, but it throws an error when the application tries to create a Report Document. This is the line that throws the error: - Dim oRpt As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument This is the error it throws: - The Application Attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. The operation required the SecurityException... So I went to the Business Objects site and downloaded this Merge Module: - CrystalReports10_NET_EmbeddedInstall.msi It seemed to install fine on my end user's machine, but I still get the same error. Is there a .Net guru, or a Crystal Reports 10 expert who would be willing to help me work this out?
  • 3. Creating a SQL "Group By" Statement in SQL
    I have two tables: "TableA" and "TableA_details". TableA contains: PrimaryKey, Description, Client TableA_details contains: PrimaryKey, TableAPrimaryKey, Duration TableA_details may contain many records for each record in TableA. I need to construct a report in Crystal Reports 8.5 that will give me the Client, Description and Total Duration of details for each record in TableA. I understand that this requires an Innerjoin with a groupby TableA. However, according to the Crystal Help, the details section needs to be hidden for server-side scripting to occur. How do construct a successful SQL groupby and preview all the information that I need? Thanks, Stefanie
  • 4. Export to tiff?
    Hey all, Is there anyway to export to a tiff file using 8.5? In my search's, I've found a lot of no you can't do it, but everything I found seemed to reference ver. 7. As far as I can tell, there is still no way to do it in 8.5, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks. Darren.

Getting Invalid index. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8002000B (DISP_E_BADINDEX))

Postby Massimo Primi » Thu, 20 Jul 2006 17:46:13 GMT

Hi,
I'm getting this error : Invalid index. (Exception from HRESULT:
0x8002000B (DISP_E_BADINDEX)).
I'm using VS 2005 and Crystal Reports for VS2005.
The code lines are involved are:

ReportDocument rep = new ReportDocument();
rep.Load(appPath + "graphReport.rpt");
rep.DataDefinition.FormulaFields["riferimento"].Text =
toCRString(rife.ToString());
rep.DataDefinition.FormulaFields["coilNum"].Text = toCRString(coilNum);
rep.SetDataSource(tList);
rptViewer.ReportSource = rep;

What can it be ? Thanks in advance for your help !
Best

Massimo

1.Setting Selected Index causes invalid cast exception!!!

Hello all,

I am re-writing an application in dot net, that I originally wrote in VB6.
The snag I am getting into is at one part of the application setting the
selected index of a list box works, however, it fails for another list box.
Something is telling VB that I am casting. The error message I get is
"Specified cast is not valid".

Could someone please shed some light on this subjec. Please????

2.getting error Invalid Property Array Index!

Hi All,

I'm trying to update two text fields in my database (access) leader and
co-leader.

In two comboboxes names are loaded. When I choose a name the recordid
of this name should be passed into the two fields. When I add only one
there is no problem but when I added one and try to add or change
another one the value isn't passed into the field.

When I edit the record and the field leader is already filled,
I get an error Invalid Property Array Index on the first field.

If Not Len(txtLeader.Text) = 0 Then rsNew.Fields("leader") =
CStr(txtLeader.ItemData(txtLeader.ListIndex))

If Not Len(txtCoLeader.Text) = 0 Then rsNew.Fields("co-leader") =
CStr(txtCoLeader.ItemData(txtCoLeader.ListIndex))

Anyone an idea what is going wrong here?

Regards,

Marco

4.Operation unavailable (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800401E3 (MK_E_UNAVAILABLE))

I hope someone can hep with this!

I have a winform (VB.NET 2005), containing a  tab control, which in
turn contains a few standard controls and one custom control, the form
used to work fine, then today for no apparent reason when I try to load
the designer for the form I am given a message box saying that the tab
control has thrown an unhandled exception and has been disabled:

Operation unavailable (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800401E3
(MK_E_UNAVAILABLE))

Then of course the designer won't load,

any suggestions please?

Thanks,
