  • 2. error when installing CR9 dotNET redistribution
Hi Folks, I got a problem when installing the file "cr9netredist.msi" downloaded from CR website. I made a database application with VB.NET 2003, including some report forms (w/ report viewer control). Actually I've done so many times, to both XP & 98 computers. I installed dotnetframework & cr9netredist.msi. My application could run without any problem. But now one of the computers popped up with an error message saying that keycode.dll was unable to register during the installation process of cr9netredist.msi, then followed by some other dlls (e.g. crpe.dll) with the same message. It gave me "Abort", "Retry" & "Ignore". I could only select "Ignore" to continue the installation. After several "ignores" I finished the installation. However I couldn't load my reports. Could any one suggest me a possible solution to this problem? Thanks!
  • 3. Produce report from filled data set
Hi there, I have a filled data set that is working well. I want to produce a crystal report of the data. How do I do this? I have seen a lot of help on msdn but it is for C# and I can't seem to figure out the vb version. I have imported: Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine I have declared: Private orpt As New CrystalReportPluginLib.Report I have coded: oRpt.SetDataSource(MyDataSet) CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = oRpt The program crashes. The msdn help suggested the declaration: public CrystalReport1 oRpt = new CrystalReport1() I cannot find the equivalent in all the VB.Net references. Thank you for your help.

I know this combination is a bit off topic, but I have posted a message on
the Business Objects forum and didn't get a response.
I can't figure out how to connect to an ACT! 2007 database in Crystal
Reports XI?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

1.Dynamic Report using Crystal Reports XI

Good morning,

I have to develop an application within which the user is able to print
reports (this is done using Visual Basic 6 and Crystal Reports XI). This
works fine as long the reports can be designed as is.
But now users want a dynamic report: One user wants to print all
columns, but others only want to print column 1 and 2 from a database
table (e.g. name and birthdate). How could this be done using Crystal
Reports XI? Could I pass the field names from Visual Basic 6 to Crystal
Reports XI?

Thank you in advance

2.Crystal Report Print Engine (CRPE) API in Crystal Reports XI

I have a question regarding to Crystal Report Print Engine (CRPE) API.
Currently I use old API to print reports created with Crystal Reports
X. Our organization is going to migrate to Crystal Reports XI, so my
question is:
Is it possible to use CRPE in new version of Crystal Reports (XIR2),
and eventually what was changed in new API?

3.CR - VS2005 #3 Crystal Reports.net vs Crystal Reports XI

I've looked for a document that lists the differences between these 2
versions on a somewhat detailed level. I know each version has new features,
but I'm looking for something with more substance, like if the report
bursting indexes option or the Search Expert is in Crystal Reports for
visual studio 2005. I've looked for these options but can't find them in the
help file, but that doesn't mean that they aren't there, or maybe they have
a different name.

Any help or documentation on this level would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

5.Migrating From Crystal Reports 8.5 to Crystal Reports XI (Business Objects)

I'm about to begin migrating quite a few reports created using Crystal
Reports 8.5 to Crystal Reports (Business Objects) 11.

I'd like to know if there's anything specific I need to do to "convert"
the existing version 8.5 reports to version 11 aside from just opening
them using Business Objects XI and then saving them, or is there some
sort of more specific process that I should go through in converting
the reports from this older format to the most recent format?
