  • 2. Creating a REAL proxy. Allowint to obtain IP
Hello, Ive seen many proxy server examples. Ive created my own proxy server too. My proxy server lies on another computer. In my current computer I set the proxy settings for http and socks so the apps can connect to the other PC's proxy server and then connect to internet. thats usual. There are many other programs that do no use proxy. They simply obtain IPs and try to connect to them to their respective IPs and Ports as if internet was running on the computer. How can I catch these requests? I want to create an app to be able to check if any program is requesting an IP and so my proxy server sends that IP to that program. And then that program tries to connect as normal, my proxy server also catches those requests. I think u know wht im talkig about. How can i create this? Any guidelines? - Faraz Azhar

VB6 - Compile error: error in loading dll

Postby SmltamFp » Thu, 13 Nov 2008 05:21:14 GMT

Hi,

I inherited this VB program from the former employee, I don't know much
about VB. I updated a line of code and try to compile the code and I got an
error "compile error: error in loading dll" and it points to the word
".Recordset". I tried to re-register DAO351.

Any help would be appreciated it thanks

Never save anything when you exit, especially when you have an unknown error.
Save it will hide that error. The next time you open you will have another
problem that does not relate to the original problem.
Restart it all.
Then check Project Resources menu to see if anything is missing.
Many times an error is falsely pointing to something in code that is not
wrong.
I have this happen when a referenced item is missing or has changed location.
I get an error on a line that has nothing to do with the actual problem.
If this is the case, uncheck the referenced item but write down what is is
and look below to find the original path and close the reference window.
Save the project, the reopen the reference window and locate the missing
item and checkit. That should clear that type of error. Hope this is what
it is.

Did it compile before you change? If so, show us what change
you made.

Are you opening the project on the same machine as the
former employee used?

Nope, it doesn't compile before I made the change. Even though the project
works originally. When I compile it its pointing to the word ".Recordset"

Private Sub cmdRemovefromFavorites_Click()
    If Not IsNull(grdMenuFavorites.Bookmark) Then
        sql = "Delete from ASTMENU2 where PROJECT_ID = '" & ProjectID & "'
and USER_ID = '" & UserID & "'" _
            & " and MENU_ID = '" &
datMenuFavorites.Recordset.Fields(0).Value & "'" _
            & " and MENU_ITEM_TYPE = '" &
datMenuFavorites.Recordset.Fields(1).Value & "'" _
            & " and MENU_ITEM_OBJECT = '" &
datMenuFavorites.Recordset.Fields(2).Value & "'"
        On Error Resume Next
        OraD.Execute (sql)
        datMenuFavorites.Refresh
    End If

That version may not be installed or configured on your machine. Try changing the DAO reference
(Project...References) to the Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library.

Yes I am opening the project on the same pc that was built. I did revert back
to the original project and it still pointing to the .Recordset line.

Did that as well, no luck.

Is this app using just DAO or are the Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects added to the Project References
as well?

1.VB6 Compile Error "Error in Load DLL"

I'm attempting to move a VB6 project from one computer to another. I wrote
the program so I do know it well. As far as I can tell I've installed
everthing I need on the new computer. However, everytime I try and compile
the application (I'm actually creating a dll) I get the error message "Error
in Loading DLL". The problem is that is never tells me which DLL. Is there
anyway to track down the problem DLL?

Thanks

2."Error in loading DLL", VB6 ActiveX DLL

If anyone can help me, I will be very appreciative.

I've written an ActiveX DLL that has mysteriously stopped working on my
development machine but works fine on another test machine. Each machine has
the same version of Excel (i.e. 2003) and is running the same dll and xls
file. However, on the development machine, the code will execute in debug
mode without errors (reference made to vbp file vs dll). I have tried a lot
of things to resolve the issue: OS LiveUpdate, Office Update, delete dll from
registry, register / unregister dll via regsvr32, checked dll using
Dependency Walker, etc but nothing has helped. Ideas anyone? Thanks!

3.VBA error- could not load object and Compile Error

Hello,

Error " Could not load an object because it is not available on this
machine" when trying to open Word Document which has VBA scripts.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office and Visual Basic 6.0 Pro
to no avail.
If i click "OK" opn above error, another error comes up saying "Compile
error, can't find project or library".

This happens on 5 different files and on 3 different systems. Both XP and
Win2000.

Please help.

4.Diagnosing "Error in loading DLL" with LoadLibrary - Error code 1

5.Error 48: Error in loading DLL

That snippet code working very well

   Dim oPapFac As Objec
   Set oPapFac = CreateObject("NexpertPap.Factory"

but this snippet code don't working

   Dim oPapFac As NexpertPap.Factor
Set oPapFac = CreateObject("NexpertPap.Factory") 'Raise Error 48: Error in loading DL

That isn't a "Type mismatch" neither a "Can't create ActiveX Object"
The NexpertPap type library is correctly installed. That library is an ActiveX EXE Object and
Factoy is a SingleUse Class. I am testing this code in a Windows 2003 Server

I haven't any idea about which can be the problem, any suggestion?.

Thanks
