  • 1. msado15.dll error loading the type library/dll
Hi, We are running a DCOM environment application. We bought a new development server which is running with windows 2000 server with SP4. When we run our code it is failing giving the error message, """" error loading the type library/dll """. When we debug the code it looks like the error is coming from the section " using namespace ADODB. And in our component we are importing the msado15.dll. The version of the "msado15.dll" is " 2.53.6200.0". When i try to register using the command "regsvr32 c:\program files\comman files\system\ado\msado15.dll" it is giving an error saying that "load library failed. The specific module could not be found". How should I go ahead. Thanks for help. Thanks, Anto.A.R.
  • 2. Crystal Reports for .Net FrameWork 1.0
I am a little puzzled here. I just installed dotnet framework 1.0 on my Prod server. It does not include the Crystal Reports Viewer installation. Is there an Add on to .Net Framework for Crystal Viewer? I am not able to find any downloads for Crystal Viewer on Microsoft or Crystal's website... Any help will be much appreciated as all my applications are using Crystal Reports. Thanks...Arif
  • 3. Folding in HTML view?
Is there any way that I can fold my HTML code in VS.Net for ASP.Net pages? This is a tremendously useful feature when writing my code-behinds, but then going to my HTML for a large page is hideous. I don't know much about VS.Net addins, but if this functionality isn't present inherently, is there a way to allow folding through an addin and maybe making some special ASP.Net user control? Thanks, Steve

I am using VS.NET Enterprise version, what do you recommend the book of Crystal Report ? Note, I have not used Crystal Report before and new to VS.NET but want to migrate myself to VS .NET from other programming IDE.

Installing Visual Studio 2003 over 2002

Hi,
I have developing environment of .net in 2002. I want to upgrade my
application to 1.1 .net framework. I know that I can download .NET 1.1
SDK and then I can comppile my applications to 1.1.
What is an ideal situation?

1) Uninstall 2002 and install 2003?
2) Leave 2002 and install the .NET 1.1 SDK?

If i choose Option 2, then is there any developing environment
difference in 2002 and 2003?
Then I will have to update my Production enviroment also where I will
be updating 1.0 to 1.1 framework.

Please advise.

Visual Studio .NET 2002 and Visual Studio .NET 2003 are separate products
and can exist side by side on a single PC. Each version is tied to a
specific version of the .NET Framework (Framework 1.0 for 2002 and Framework
1.1 for 2003). Therefore, you cannot use Framework 1.1 with VS 2002 simply
by installing Framework 1.1.
You can (as your needs dictate) leave 2002 installed and install 2003
separately, or remove 2002 and install 2003.
There are very few significant differences between 2002 and 2003 as far as
the user interface goes, so you should not experience issues in that regard.
Also, VS 2002 solutions automatically upgrade to VS 2003 format when opened
in that version.
In your situation, I'd install VS 2003, leaving 2002 installed until you're
sure it's no longer needed.

1.Installing VIsual Studio 2002 and Visual Studio 2003 on the same PC

Hi,

I have Visual Studio.Net 2002 and the .Net Framework 1.0 on my PC. I
am considering moving to Visual Studio 2003 and .Net Framework 1.1 for
any new projects. Before I begin just wondering if its okay to install
both versions on the same PC and if there are any issues I should be
aware of. I want to retain the ability to edit/update my old 1.0
projects in Visual Studio 2002 without upgrading them. Basically I
want to have both versions of Visual Studio and the Framework on the
same box.

I'm aware of the notion of side-by-side execution of the .NET
Framework but does it extend to the Visual Studio itself.

Thanks,

Paul

3.visual studio .net 2003 verses visual studio .net 2002

Assuming I have an asp.net web site written using Visual Studio .Net 2002
(i.e. for v1.3705 of the .Net Framework). Would I be able to copy the aspx
pages (together with the code behind files) and the .cs files used to build
a .dll
component library to a machine that has Visual Studio .Net 2003 and
compile/build from there?

I'm aware that this version uses v1.1 of the .Net Framework, so assuming
that I'd like to copy them back to the machine with Visual Studio .Net 2002
I'd have to be careful not to use features not available in the earlier v1.0
.Net Framework.

5.Visual Studio 2002 vs Visual Studio 2003

HI,

I have written an application in VS.net 2002 and it compiles and works
fine. Now Ive moved the code to another machine which has VS.net 2003,
and the code compiles fine, but when I run it there is a Security
Exception.

Is there some new security feature, or could it be another problem.

- Thank You
