  • 1. VS Plugin for C# Testbed?
I'm wondering if there is some VS2008 IDE plugin that would allow me to write/run code snippets outside of an application? Something like the Debug, Immediate window, but doesn't require the application to be running. Thanks!
  • 2. Mouse Drag Operation Failed While Creating DataSet
I'm trying a simple drag operation from a valid data connection in server explorer to the design surface of a new DataSet and get the subject error. The detail says it could not retrieve schema information for table or view. This happens for every connection. I've been using VS2008 for at least a year without problem having built a number of windows applications and now I am unable to even create a dataset unless I do it manually. This is not generally an option because of the size of the tables. The only thing I've done recently is import symbol tables and I don't see that there could be a connection to my problem and that action. I've searched the Internet for a solution but have been unsuccessful. I'm connecting to a SQL Server 2000 database so the one problem about MySQL drivers doesn't apply.
  • 3. Best Practices: Different Forms Layout?
I have a project that I'd like to have two different physical layouts for the ,NET Form (there is only one) but keep the same code, otherwise. I see that I have something like: myForm.cs myForm.Design.cs myForm.resX in the IDE and what I want to change is only myForm.Design.cs from what I can tell (it has the layout information but all the functional code is in myForm.cs. I want to have to different layouts, and use one or the other based on a compile-time switch (). Any thoughts on the best way to handle this? I tried to have to files (myForm.Design1.cs and myForm.Design2.cs) and then include only one per configuration, but I cannot see how to make this work. Maybe it's the right way, but I'm missing something. Any other thoughts? Thanks!

Updating IronPython Binaries?

Postby lucius » Thu, 20 Sep 2007 03:04:04 GMT

Installing VSIIP.MSI (Visual Studio Integration for IronPython)
installs 1.0 DLLs. I have 1.1 version DLLs of IronPython.Dll and
IronMath.Dll in another filesystem location. Can I simply overwrite
the 1.0 DLLs in "C:\Program Files\Visual Studio Integration for
IronPython" with newer versions, are will there be dependency problems
I can't yet see?

Thanks.
