  • 1. IDE Bug: CodeVariable.InitExpression
Help!!! I've noticed that the following VB.NET code yields an InitExpression for each of the enum members: Friend Enum XXXX Member1 = 1 Member2 = 2 Member3 = 3 End Enum However, if Option Strict On is added to the top of the module, only the first has an InitExpression. Has anyone else discovered this? Is there a reason? Is there a workaround? TIA Dan XXXX@XXXXX.COM
  • 2. body.offsetWidth
Tried asking this in the internet explorer forum but that was a waste of time. I have made a new aspx page as part of my ongoing project. The pages all load up in a frame. The problem I have is that on this new page, body.offsetWidth is say 300, where on all other pages body.offsetWidth will be 280. There is no visible setting in vs.net to affect this other than say margins, but all attributes are identical in vs on both pages. Does anyone have any clue what might be causing this? Feel free to ask for more info, as I'm lost on how 2 very similar pages can have different widths when I am not explicitly setting any page width.
  • 3. Dialog
Hello, I have a dialog (*.rc) and I want to add a field that will be behind an existing field. When you add a new item to the dialog, automatically it appears on the front. Is it possible to bring items that were created before to the front? Thank a lot, Liat
  • 4. Selection Format on Vs.Net
Hi, I M using Vs.NeT 7.1 and I wonder : Where in VS.Net 7.1 can I find the Alt-F8(Selection Format) - one of the important features of VS.6.0. Regards, Janiv Ratson.
  • 5. Close all open files in VS.NET
Is there a quick way to close all open files in VS.NET? I have set it up so that the toolbars for every kind of document that I typically edit are the same height. So, I can rapidly click on the top right x to close them all manually. But, I thought that we used to be able to hold down <shift> or <ctrl> when clicking on the File menu to get a Close All. Is that gone? <Todd />

Code Editor locks up

Postby S0RW » Wed, 22 Jun 2005 04:08:02 GMT

I am using Visual Studio 2005 Beta2 on Windows XP Pro Sp2. After building
couple of applications successfully now I am experiencing a problem in
VS2005. The code editor does not respond to Enter and Arrow keys. So I cannot
change the code. Does anybody know this problem?

Thanks in Advance
KDV

Usually it happens when there was an error loading document in the Design
view. It has been fixed in the RC.

Thanks

Thanks Mikhail. I checked and the problem happens if there are other windows
open ie output window, breakpoint window but these windows are in autohidden
mode. After opening the solution if I just try to bring up breakpoint window
then editor gets unlocked. For the time being I will manage this way.

Thanks
KDV

2.Lots of Lock-ups in VS 2005

Hi:

I have a new Dell Computer with 1G RAM running VS2005 and SQL 2005. Seems
like VS 2005 is very slow and I get lots of IE lock-ups. I find myself
waiting a lot. Could it be McAfee? My productivity has gone down with VS
2005. Any one care to comment? Do I need more memory?

Thanks,

3.ASP.Net 'lock ups'...

4.VS2003 IDE frequent lock-ups

Even with relatively small, single-project solutions, when I do simple
things to my code such as add a carriage return, delete a line, or sometimes
even highlight text with the mouse, the IDE hangs for 5 to 10 seconds. Task
manager reports no CPU activity. The hard drive isn't working. VS is just
hanging there, doing nothing, not even repainting. I'm seriously at the end
of my rope with this one... someone please tell me how I might fix this.

5.Often lock ups in vs2k5

I have a pure .Net application that I run in the vs2k5 debugger. I often
have lock ups of Visual Studio that never recover or if I break the
application it shows strang data in the call stack. It does not even show
the .Net source code. Below is list of the threads in use and a typical
call stack.

Anyone know what would cause this?
