  • 1. How to change default encoding in VS.NET 2003?
Hi. I'm a Korean VB user working on English Windows(default encoding is english) with English VS.NET. Sometimes, I work on Korean Windows with English VS.NET. So I need to exchange data between two machines. My comments wrote on Korean Windows always broken on English Windows without Unicode. But, chaning encoding for each source files is too inconvinience. I want to change defualt encoding as Unicode for all documents in VS .NET. I don't want any local-encoding for any document. How can I change default encoding of VS. NET to Unicode? (I don't think there is no way to do this.) PS. If Windows default encoding can be changed into Unicode, that's better.
  • 2. Unbinding SourceSafe
We have a large web solution under Visual SourceSafe control. Sometimes we want to copy the solution to a machine that doesn't have access to the VSS server. We get all kinds of error messages and dialog boxes as VS.NET opens the solution, plus VS.NET creates a new virtual directory (WebSite_1) for the app. This is a real pain. Is there a way to load a VSS-controlled solution on a computer that doesn't have VSS access? Thanks
  • 3. Projects are missing when open from VSS
I have a Web Application solution, which has 32 projects (20 Web projects and 12 local projects). I use IDE: File- >Source Control->Open From Source Control.... After getting solution in VSS, selecting the solution. The Select Project Loacation dialog gives only 18 Web Projects. Click Ok, some projets are not copied to the default Web Site //localhost/mySln/myprojects. After a dozen Message Boxes "Unable to read the project file 'myProji.csproj'. The system cannot find the file specified." and several other error messages, I have the solution open with 13 Web projects missing. I can manually fix the problem by getting missing projects from VSS and reload them to the solution individually. Q1: I have 20 Web Projects in the solution, why Select Proejct Location gives me only 18 projects? Q2: Why some projects are not copied to the default Web Site from VSS? Is there limited number of projects for a Web application?
  • 4. Visio UML Menu in VS .NET 2003
Where did the "Visio UML" sub menu on the "Project" menu go in .NET 2003? I still have .NET 2002 installed and it's still there, Visio still runs fine, but the sub menu does not appear in .NET 2003. What gives? Alex

xsd:documentation and formatting

Hi,

I'm setting up a xsd for a xml based DSL of mine. I tried to use multiple
paragraphs in an <xsd:documentation> tag, so I would need some kind of
formatting, at least line breaks.

The whole thing is intended to be used in Visual Studio, but when I am using
the schema, the visual studio xml editor does strip all line breaks and empty
lines away in the tooltip help.

Is there any way to give the documentation text some formatting?

I've also read the documentation aboud xsd and also, how the all node is
defined ( www.w3.org/TR/2001/REC-xmlschema-1-20010502/#element-all). It looks
like there is nothing defined in general.

thanks
doc

p.s.: I was not sure where exactly post this to, I hope this is a good group
for it.

3.xsd.exe schema documentation...

Hi!

I am creating schema directly from the .net assembly using the xsd.exe tool.
Now I would like to annotate the schema (using xs:annotation and
xs:documentation etc.). The C# file that created the assembly has comments in
it. Is it possible to somehow import these comments into the generated schema
file.

I am willing to write a program for it, but was wondering what is the best
way to go.

Thanks
