  • 1. Best Way to Learn EW 3?
I just got Expression Web 3. I am not a programmer and the last time I did any web design work was with FrontPage. Normally the best way for me to learn something new is to get a book with step-by-step lessons. Can someone suggest a book, set of tutorials or some other method of training that will help get me started? Thanks for any suggestions.
  • 2. XWeb 3 installation failure
I'm trying to install XWeb V3 upgrade. When the progress bar gets to ab. 90%, I get the following pop-up: Could not register font. Verify that you have sufficient permissions to install fonts, and that the system supports this font. Retry Cancel No matter which button I click, the installation is rolled back. The installation log contains this entry: [timestamp] Error: Config_Products_Install: [repeat of message from pop-up] Are there any other log entries I should be looking for? When I ran into a similar problem installing Office 2007, the pop-up had a third button, Ignore. Clicking this allowed installation to continue, and Office has run happily ever since. Configuration: Windows Vista Ultimate, 2GB RAM Office 2007 Pro Expression Web 12.0.6211.1000 SP1 (is that the equiv of V1?) Front Page 2003 SP3 Thanks for any insight. -TedMi
  • 3. Shortcts
I'm working with Expression Web 2 using a book for Expression Web 1. For the most part, it's working and so far, things seem to be going OK. I do have one question though . . . I am more of a keyboard than mouse user, and I find myself automatically using keyboard shortcuts such as: When creating a new page from an existing page, I Ctrl S (save) the new page and then type contact, rather than contact.htm, and then I hit Enter rather than click on OK. I'm thinking some of this is going to come back to bite me it the tush, but so far, using keyboard shortcuts hasn't done me in yet. Any advice on this? -- Lara Knox
  • 4. Uhhhhhhhhhh! Blindingly Black/Gray!
I have EW 1 and 2, and have downloaded EW 3 to see if I want to buy it. However, that black, dark gray and light gray combination with very little contrast may be a show stopper for me. Is there a way to change the default (non) color to something I can live with? I've searched the help files and can't seem to come up with anything. Thanks in advance. -- Lara Knox
  • 5. EW3's Color Scheme (Black)
I'd like to upgrade from FP2003 to EW3, but honestly, I have a lot of trouble seeing the toolbar buttons because of the black color scheme. I've asked this before (maybe even in this forum), but thought I'd ask again. Has anyone heard whether MS will take a look at adding some other color schemes to EW3, so that those of us who can't always see the toolbar buttons very well, will be able to use it?

Microfox,
Where in EW do you find the info on how long it'll operate?

Once I installed the trial it asked me if I wanted to "activate" when I did
that... a window said thank you.. this trial will function until Feb 28 (not
those exact words.. but that was the meaning).
