Re: When Offline Files access is enabled, cannot use computer offline
by Lanwench [MVP - Exchange] » Fri, 30 Jul 2004 22:24:52 GMT
This is OT, but my usual suggestion when people are having problems with
offline files is to ditch it. I prefer a third party option - an inexpensive
shareware utility called SecondCopy (www.centered.com).
Sorry I can't address the specifics of your problem, but as I don't use
offline files anymore I've never seen this.....perhaps someone else has a
more relevant answer.

2.offline files - file types that cannot be made available offline
when synchronizing data between a PC and a laptop, I
always get errors that some files cannot be made available
offline "Files of this type cannot be made available
offline".
Is there anyway to make the program treat all files the
same and copy them regardless? I am not worried about data
integrity as these are only testing files.
3.Offline Files - Stay Offline when using VPN
My users are complaining that once they connect to VPN they are no longer
able to access the cached copy of their redirected My Documents files. Their
windows XP sp2 laptops are accessing the network copy of the files and this
causes slow transfer time when opening documents. Is there a way to stay
offline over VPN connections or any WAN connection?
Thanks in advance,
Ken
4.Offline Files - Computer(s) Offline
I am having issues with files synchronization on XP PC's
I have a persistent drive mapped to a server. That mapped drive is
mapped to a new server (Q).
I have deleted the name of that server out of every instance under the
registry my only idea to solve the problem. That has made it diappear
from My Computer->Tools->Synchronize
But yet I have the offline computer symbol (and bubble)continuously
showing in the system tray.
There is very little info when syncronization goes bad.
