I am trying to enable the volume icon on the taskbar but whenever I go to the 'Sounds and Audio Devices properties' applet in CP and select the option I receive an error saying the the Volume Control program is not installed and I need to use the ADD/Remove programs in CP. If you haven't figured out where this is going, there is no volume control program to install and I haven't been able to find one. Anybody has a clue where I might find it. Thanks,

I have what seems to be a perfectly good installation of XP x64 with 8 GB of RAM, all of which is reported everywhere. It boots and shuts down snappily. My image viewer pulls up the next 24 MB image almost before I have released the mouse button, and Acrobat does the same with the next page. However CAD and spreadsheet show long delays with CPU maxing out after every affirmative mouse click. I have already cleaned out old files and defragged the drive. The drive LED indicates no stress. Task manager shows no resource hogs. Is there anything else in Windows I should look at?
  • 3. Windows 7 - ODBC Error When Customizing USER DSN
I am trying to edit the parameters of an ODBC in Windows 7. When I click configure I get the following error message : The setup routines for The datasource name can not be found. Please resinstall the driver. I thought this was a problem with a particular ODBC but does it on all the USER DSN. Any ideas ?

Some kind of strategic question -
Are there any plans to release a Win2003 Ent R2 for Itanium platform?

What Andre said. There isn't an Itanium version of R2, and there won't be.
One suspects primarily because the scenarios that R2 was aimed at aren't
really optimal scenarios for the Itanium chip. But we will have an Itanium
Longhorn Server, by all accounts.
