I am transferring files from 98 to XP Pofessional. Have tried the across the network and then sent files and settings successfully to a file location on new xp pc. When attempting to load the settings etc. by way of the wizard,...the wizard locks. Have tried multiple ways with mutliple combinations. Always locks up on the new XP PC. How do I work around?

I know that there was an update that worked on the old files but I not find it. HELP?
  • 3. pre-mature expiration of xp64
My xp64 trial ended 6 months early (supposed to be for a year). How can I restore it without having to reinstall? What could have caused this? The only out of the ordinary thing I noticed was that yesterday my calendar was displaying June 1 2005 instead of Sep. 1 2005. Prior to that, however, the date was always correct. I installed the trial late feb. 2005. I corrected the date yesterday and then when I went to boot up for the first time today, it gave me the message to buy a retail version my trial expired. TIA

dotNET 1.1 SP1 install error on 2003 Server 64-bit Datacenter SP2

SQL 2005 64-bit and IIS also installed on the machine with latest SP and
patches.

Here's the error when you run the installer:

This setup is not supported on 64-bit versions of Windows XP

So I extracted it and ran it like this:

D:\tmp\dotNET1.1\dotnetfx>msiexec /i netfx.msi /lvx* d:\tmp\dotNET11.log

I got a little bit more output but still nothing any more useful to my
eye. We need to install this due to a third party application from UAI

Here's some of the output of the log surrounding the error:

MSI (c) (E8:F8) [16:17:49:824]: PROPERTY CHANGE: Adding

Anyone have any clue? I have this same error on our other 64-bit server
also, but don't need 1.1 on that machine. Anything I can forward to the
UAI/Trimble developers would possibly be helpful too.

Thanks,

I think the above is just the service pack 1 for .NET 1.1. When I run
NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe it says this:

The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service
because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch
may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program
to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct
upgrade patch.

I need to reinstall the whole of .NET 1.1 with the redistributable.
Redistributable is dotnetfx file version 1.1.4322.573 and is available at
 http://www.**--****.com/

This is what gives me the error message I posted first.

I've read the literature on this topic and it says that its possible to
install 64-bit print drivers - as additional print drivers - on 32-bit
Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1.

So far I've had no success.

I keep getting the error message saying that the drivers are not in the
specified location for the selected processor architecture.

Anyone had any success performing such an installation? Or can anyone
suggest where I'm going wrong?
