  • 2. .net framework
I downloaded the new .net for xp64, but it gives me an error:1719 when trying to install, this is nothing new, I cannot install Macromedia Studio8, Dreamweaver, Flash, none of it. I reinstalled windows installer, again the 64 bit version, same problem, Any ideas would be appreciated, I do not like rebooting to standard XP for these programs, and dev work. Bogey

  • 4. Should I use "Dual Boot"
I have a new Ferrari 4000 Turion64 and I am certainly not an IT guy but I thought I would take a chance and make the jump to lightspeed. I am pretty pleased with the Ferrari but find an almost daily need for drivers that I cannot get. Therefore, I was thinking about Barb Bowman's "Dual Boot". Seems pretty simple but I have a few additional questions because, like I said, I'm no IT guy. Can anyone help me with a few innocent (probably stupid) questions? -- GJV

Anyone found Microsoft wireless keyboard & mouse 64 bit drivers? I'm
surprised MS has not supported their own hardware for 64 bit yet.

They have been 'on the way' for 4 months now. Get Logitech if you want
64-bit support.

Some one tipped us about XMouse that is to be found on PAMD64. It is said to
do anything that i-mouse does. I only just installed it 5 minutes ago, it
configured alright as far as I can see, but I cannot vouch for it yet. I
have a Logitech MX 310 - that is Mouseware and will not be supported, it
seems.

The annoying thing is, they are in all likelyhood, working on the rubbish
in Intellimouse/Intellitype that nobody actually uses, just release the
driver, we don't 64bit RSI guides....

2.Windows Vista 64-bit Canon Pixma IP2600 fails to install correctly even with 64-bit driver

I have been trying, but failing, to install a Canon Pixma IP2600
printer under Windows Vista 64-bit, and using the downloaded 64-bit
driver from the Canon site. The install is slow but does complete. And
the message pops up "device successfully installed" in the system
tray.
But, when we go to the Printers window the device fails to appear. I
have an open call with Canon at the moment, but also wondering if I
can get any advice on this horrible problem here. The client is
understandably resisting buying a new USB printer just to get this
thing to work!
Note, I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, several
times: I.e., removing the Driver software from the Uninstall
Programmes section in Control Panel. Makes no difference!
Any advice on this much appreciated. Nb, to all intents and purposes
this is not a printer problem, as the printer worked fine under
Windows XP 32-bit.

3.Printer Driver 32-bit driver on 64-bit servers

Hi ,

I would like to know if I install 64-bit print server and install all 64-bit
printer driver, will i be able to

1) Print from 32-bit XP desktop
2) install a 32-bit print driver on 64-bit Widows Server 2003 R2

Please let me know if your aware of this situation.

4.Change in INF for having the capability of Installing 64 bit driver and 32 bit driver

Hi All,
I have to port a 32 bit printer driver co-installer to
64bit(AMD64). I have ported it but I need to hook with driver INF file.
Is it possible to have a single INF?

In my view yes. Now the question is, how OS will know which vesion of
Co-installer dll need to be picked up. SO in that case I need to write
like this(Not sure)
[section name.nt.co-Installer]
   take 64 bit version
[section name.ntamd64.co-Installer]
   take 64 bit version

Am I write?
Please suggest some solution.

Thanks & Regards

5.converting 32-bit driver to 64-bit driver

the manufacturer of my multi-function printer (Canon MF5650) refused to leave
me the schedule for a release of the 64-bit driver of the printer. I would
like to know whether I could convert the 32-bit driver into its 64-bit
counterpart on my own.

I always encounter "Cannot install this hardware" with the "New Hardware
Found Wizard"...
