  • 1. Local Disk Anomaly
This is a multi-part message in MIME format. At some unknown point in time over the last few weeks a new local disk "Q" has appeared on my system. It shows, along with my normal c, d & e (dvd) drives when I click computer. Properties shows capacity of 0 bytes. When I check windows management console Q does not show up. It also does not show up when I run Paragon Partition Manager. How can I tell where this local disk came from and how can I remove it? <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=text/html;charset=iso-8859-1 http-equiv=Content-Type> <META name=GENERATOR content="MSHTML 8.00.7600.16490"></HEAD> <BODY style="PADDING-LEFT: 10px; PADDING-RIGHT: 10px; PADDING-TOP: 15px" id=MailContainerBody leftMargin=0 topMargin=0 CanvasTabStop="true" name="Compose message area"> <DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>At some unknown point in time over the last few weeks a new local disk "Q" has appeared on my system.  It shows, along with my normal c, d & e (dvd) drives when I click computer.  Properties shows capacity of 0 bytes.  When I check windows management console Q does not show up.  It also does not show up when I run Paragon Partition Manager.  How can I tell where this local disk came from and how can I remove it?</FONT></DIV></BODY></HTML>
  • 2. P2P network hangs
I run 32 bit xp on one of my computers and after I upgraded to IE 8 I had trouble with a P2P site. Switched back to IE7 and everthing resumed "normal" operation. Don't know if this is your trouble but it may be. I was also having some trouble with other sites after I upgraded to IE8 but I cannot remember the details. I haven't tried IE8 on any other machines. My network card on this machine is an onboard NVIDIA network bus emulator. -- Geophyte1 "kbouter" wrote: > I have a windows 7 ultimate x64 computer. > > I installed windows xp pro x64 on another computer: > AMD Athlon 64, 2200 MHz 911x200) 3200+ > Asus K8v-X mobo > Micron Tech: 16VDDT PC 2700 (3) 1GB sticks > BIOS 1012.003 (newest) > Nvidia Geforce 6200 AGP > > Ran Xp Pro x32 prior on this unit and networking was perfect P2P. > Now when I try to access from either computer, it hangs & I have to restart. > > It does have the Marvell Yukon 88E8001 Network card & I set the registry > Enable RSS to type 0 but this did not help the problem. > > Please assist.

I never order anything recently except the xp sp2 free update cd.
Which was quite a while back. When it first came out.

I still don't know how the knew my shirt size.

I never have told my shirt size to anyone on the Internet. I never put
my shirt size on the computer. I buy might shirt locally.

However, I might know how they found out. I ordered pants not a
shirt from http://www.**--****.com/

I paid haband by money order-thank goodness. I think they may sell
the information to outside parties.

It says Microsoft Windows 64 bit Edition.

If you were a technical tester, they probably just assumed and sent you that
size.

Just check you task manager. Of course you may have to add a column heading
to find them.
