  • 1. Dual Dell 3007WFPs in xp64
I have 2 Dell 3007WFPs and can't seem to get them both working together. The second monitor is always detected as an analog display and will never display a picture. I'm not sure if this is an xp64 prob or something else as all my machines are xp64. I've tried several different machines, Lots of different versions of the nVidia drivers. nVidia 8800gtx, 7950, 3450 quadro and ATi cards. I have no problem getting a 3007wfp and a 2405fpw working together. Or other variations of monitors when there's only 1 3007. but if there's 2 3007s the second will never display a picture. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have a machine with XP Professional x64. I have a copy of Visual Surdio.net 2003 that I want to install on it. The preinstal tells me that I don't have Front Page on my computer. I am wondering if Visual Studio.net 2003 is compatable with XP Professional X64 and if so what version of Front Page will I need to purchase? -- Thanks Alan
  • 3. Future of XP Professional x64
I have noticed a number of software developers offering 64 bit versions of their applications for Vista 64 only. ( also drivers for hardware ) Can we count on XP Pro 64 to be around for a while or is Microsoft planning to gently guide us to Vista ? I am currently at a crossroads and can't decide whether to change apps and hardware to match XP Pro 64 or change OS to Vista 64. Any thoughts on the future of XP Pro 64 ?

Is there anyway to get Vista Ultimate X64 to use more than 4090mb for ReadyBoost? I upgraded to 8gb RAM and figured I should match my RAM size with my ReadyBoost size but it will only go to 4090mb. -- Sam

HP Color LaserJet 2550n

I am trying to install my new printer on XP-64bit. I've downloaded the latest
drivers from HP's website (dated 2 Jun 2005). I attempt to install a new
printer using the new drivers. It says the drivers incompatible. Has anyone
had any success with this or something similar? What did you do?

The driver you have downloaded is for Windows XP 64-bit Edition. Do you
have an Intel Itanium based system or do you have an x64 system running on
an AMD64 or Intel Pentium with EM64T processor?
If you have the x64 system then you have an incompatible driver. You will
have to wait for HP to release an x64 driver as the Itanium ones you have
downloaded are for a different release of Windows XP that is only supported
on the Intel Itanium processor.

Remember your product is Windows XP Professional x64 Edition - NOT Windows
XP 64-bit Edition

If you do actually have an Itanium system please post back here.

Meanwhile, use the HP 2500C drivers, either PCL or Postscript. They should
work acceptibly until the right drivers are available.

I am starting to think that Microsoft should have stuck with the "For
Extended Systems" title instead.

2.Cannot install HP Color Laserjet 2500L printer on Vista

Can anyone please help? I have a new PC running Vista Ultimate. I installed
my color clj2500 printer, letting Vista take control, but it only prints
black-and-white. I then tried letting Vista install the drivers from the
manufacturer's CD using the 'have disk' command and got an error message
"printer driver not installed". Then I tried to install the drivers from CD
- same problem. Then I tried downloading drivers from the HP website - it
didn't work. Any solutions? Thank you, Steve.

3.HP Color Laserjet 3500 on LPT1 will not print

I changed laptops in a docking station and used a drivers CD to install the
printer which was attached. Test pages and anything else I try to print
goes into the print queue but never prints, finally showing an error. I
downloaded the latest drivers from HP and installed them, but this hasn't
fixed the problem. The original laptop still prints fine from that docking
station.

The old laptop was WinXP, this one is Vista. I ran the "FixIt" diagnostics
but it said all problems were fixed, and it still won't print.

Any suggestions for diagnosing and fixing this problem?
