Hi, I recently removed a trial installation of VS2008 and am using VS2005 to develop embedded apps for WindowsCE 5.0. However, I cannot connect to the device anymore to debug. When trying to connect to the device i get "Connection failed 0x8973151a". Any help would be appreciated!

Is there a way to retrieve the total amount of physical memory on a device? I have tried using GlobalMemoryStatus() but that only returns available total memory. As per Microsoft site "The GlobalMemoryStatus function stores information about current memory availability into this structure." where availability is the key word. Even totaling up the components of the MEMORYSTATUS structure I am about 23m bytes short of a 64m byte known system. I am assuming this function does not take into account the Kernel OS and what ever is loaded onto the device at startup. Thanks

Locale Specific Support: Korean

Postby TWljaGFlbA » Wed, 09 Aug 2006 21:24:09 GMT

Hi all,

I try to show Korean characters. Thereby I use Font Linking (common.reg).
Furthermore I choose the Korean Locale via Settings and I add the Korean Font
"Gulim & GulimChe (Subset 1_60)" via Catalog. However, I get only squares at
the Korean characters. The used syllables exist in the mentioned font.

On the other hand, the Chinese Locale with the MingLiU-Font works perfectly.

Thanks in advance
Michael

In the meantime I have found the solution via Google Groups.

--> The default locale needs to be an east asian locale, e.g. Koreanisch

1.Implement Korean Chinese Japanese Fonts Locale Specific Support

Hello all,

I have some Questions I can figure out myself,

I added Agfa Ac3 Compression to my device.
Why do I have Ac3 support twice in PB ? one in \Internationel\Locale
Specific Support\Agfa Ac3 and one in \Internationel\Locale Specific
Support\Korea\Agfa Ac3 ??
I am using PB 4.1

I added the SimSun Font and it is working very well on my device also
Japanese but not Korean.

I looked in the regestry while the device was running and under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink
i just found the entery for SimSun

"Arial"="\\Windows\\simsun.ac3,NSimSun"
"Tahoma"="\\Windows\\simsun.ac3,NSimSun"
"Courier New"="\\Windows\\simsun.ac3,NSimSun"

nothing about Japanese or about Korean

I think PB overwrote his own Reg settings, because in common.reg everything
is fine.

How can I add Korean support to CE?
thanks for help
best regards

2.Default font for Korean Locale

Hello. I have Vista Business. I've set my system locale to Korean.
However, I don't like the font that's used with the Korean Locale. Is there
a way I can change the Korean font used with the Korean Locale? When I use
Korean characters in filenames or folder names, I don't like the Korean font
Windows uses.

thanks for your assistance~

3.Formatting numbers to a specific locale

I am using wxLua in my app so I need to use setlocale(LC_NUMERIC, "C")
to make sure lua scripts are parsed correctly in all locales.
The problem with this is that all numbers I display now use the C locale
rather than the user's. Is there any wxWidgets function to format
numbers from in a specific locale? In my case all numbers are displayed
through one function so I could use localeconv() to grab a copy of the
current locale before changing it then write my own number formatting
routine. I would rather not do this if something is already available.

Thanks,
Les

4.Korean Language Support

5.Korean Language Support?

Is it still possible to get a Hangul plugin for IE? I do
quite a bit of international surfing, especially in korean
sites, and I've had to format recently, so I've lost the
plugin. Now when I try to download the support package,
it tells me it can't be found. I'd really like to know if
it is still available.
