  • 1. Bluetooth 2.0 support in windows CE
Hai Greats, In Windows CE 6.0, Bluetooth version supported is 1.2. To support Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, what should we do? Is it enough, if the Bluetooth drivers and Hardware supporting 2.0+EDR is fine and will it work in Windows CE 6.0 with 3 Mega bits per second of Data Rate? Let me put it in another form, is there any link between Blutooth Protocol stack and Data Rate speed? With Regards, Arun.
  • 2. Kernel size about 4.2 and 5.0
hi,there, I just encountered another problem, when I migrated my bsp from 4.2 to 5.0, the release kernel size always be 29.3M, although I remove or add some items. the size never changed... when I was under 4.2 with the same items and drivers, the kernel size is only 27.5M, since someone said that the kernel must be smaller under 5.0 with the same items.. why my PB always brought out a 29.3M kernel? and then I can not write it into my flash cause it is too big. anyone can tell me how to reduce the kernel size? or there must be some configrations under pb5.0 which i modified wrong? any suggestion would be appreciated.thank u.

  • 4. Frame buffer memory problem...
Hi all, I am working with ATMEL board, with AT91SAM9263 controller. The board is up with wince 5.0. There is some problem with the display driver. The display driver takes the physical address of the frame buffer from the registry and then, uses that location as the frame buffer. Usually a seperate RAM apart from the usual SDRAM is used for this case. But now, i am in a position to use the normal SDRAM for frame buffer memory. The display driver does the following, 1) Gets the physical address from registry. 2) Uses virtual alloc to allocate virtual memory address space for frame buffer. 3) Finally virtualcopy is used to map the allocated virtual address space to physical address space, using the address mentioned in the registry. The big problem is, how to know, the address which i am giving is a free segment in RAM or not. If the address that i mention in the RAM is not a free space, will the virtualcopy shows any error?? I am in a situation to supply the physical addresss in RAM which is absolutely a free segment as the frame buffer address. How do i do this?? At present i am using 0x23f00000 for frame buffer (Szie of frame buffer is around 1 MB, RAM start address is 0x2000 0000, i am using last 1MB of the RAM). hi?
I'm trying to add any file of east asian to os image.
I tried the followings but all failed.
1. chinese os build
 a. set the build option -> locale to chinese(chinese)
 b. add 'traditional chinese' font ( MingLiu, MS Ming) to os design
 b. sysgen
 c. add a file of 'traditional chinese' to a bib file
 d. makeimg
 e. boot
After booting the ce device, I could find the os mui was chinese. But the
added file name is not correctly shown at 'my device'. It is crashed.

And when I tried again with korean locale, the result was same.

What is problem with my build process?

1.Asian Language Support in Windows CE 5.0

Hi all,

I am trying to localize my application for japanese language. My
platform is a custom platform and I have added the Japanese fonts from
the catalog into my custom platform. My custom platform is based on
Internet Appliance template.

I had successfully built the platform and booted my device with the
built platform but I do not find the japanese font files.
What could be the problem? Do I need to add any other component from
the catalog into my platform?

Appreciate any help on this.

3.to MS: CE fails to stricly localise east-asian languages

When I choose 'strict localisation' with any of the east-asian languages my
CE build fails because two (so far) resources are missing:

    1) msgslang_qvga.res
    2) aygshell.res

In my opinion those should be provided by Microsoft. They are provided with
the 0404 and 0409 locales, not for the other ones. I am not too good at
translating to these languages, uhmmmm....

Can a MS respresentative respond to this ?

Thanks,

4.QUERY: east/asian language support for English Windows 2000

I've got Windows 2000 Advanced Server English version. However I remember
reading/hearing that the 2000 versions were suppose to be international with
multi-lingual support - like the XP versions. Is it possible to install
East/Asian language support for Windows 2000? I have searched through
Control Panel and still cannot find any option to install East/Asian
language support.

Where can I get East/Asian language support for Windows 2000 easily?
