  • 1. USB Function Controller Driver
Hi All, I am having trouble getting started with developing a USB Function Controller driver for the AMD GeodeLX800 companion chip (the cs5536) I have looked at the net2280 driver and cant seem to figure out a good plan of attack. Both devices are PCI controllers but other then that there does not seem to be much compatibility. I keep going around in circles and just cant get a handle on what I need to do. I see in MSDN the list of functions I need to supply but for some reason the task seems daunting... First does anyone know of this driver being available anywhere ? ( I have asked AMD but they only have a Linux function driver ( I looked at that also but so far not much help) and second can anyone who has ported a function controller offer up some help on how to get started. The net2280 driver seems extreemly full functioned while the AMD device seems very limited (only 8 End points and no ISO transfers) is there perhaps another driver I can look at ? anyone have any code to offer up ? pointers, tips.... Thanks, Joe Welfeld
  • 2. eboot.bib question
Hi, when i set BOOTJUMP=NONE then eboot starts from Startup but doesn't jump to OALStartup. if i remove this line then eboot doesn't start. what is the correct Lauch address for eboot when no BOOTJUMP line or how can i launch to OALStartup code? eboot.bib RAM 800E4800 00090000 RAM etest 801D0000 00040000 RAMIMAGE CONFIG BOOTJUMP=NONE AUTOSIZE=OFF COMPRESSION=OFF PROFILE=OFF KERNELFIXUPS=ON ROMSTART=801D0000 ROMSIZE=40000 ROMWIDTH=32 i have a small ipl which copies PXA 270 eboot.nb0 to address A01D0000 at SDRAM and Launch same address on startup. eboot EXEENTRY is StartUp i modify eboot and remove lines which copies itself to SDRAM. so OALStartup starts from CODEINRAM section . Thanks Alli
  • 3. Powerbutton pressed detection
Hi, I want to detect when the powerbutton is pressed. (when the system is on ofcourse ;-) For this I set the 4 second delay on poweroff in the bios. The idea is that when the user presses the power button, I will still have time to do some stuff, and then shut off the power. I setup a handler to receive power-events, this works. When the power-button is pressed, I receive NO power event. Apparently the windows powerstates are not related to the system-powerstates ? Does anyone know how to detect that the powerbutton is pressed ? And after that how to shutoff the system from software, when I'm done ? (so the user does not need to wait for the 4 sec delay on the button) The system is a VIA x86 board, running CE5 and/or CE6 Greetings, Rob.
  • 4. Hive Setup - 4.2
Hi, I'm working on Windows CE 4.2. I want to setup Hive Based Registry. I'm using CEPC BSP. Firstly i set up RAM based registry, and its working fine. But the thing is that "Doc and Settings" folder and all doesnt show up as in 5.0. Then i added Hive registry setup, and when testing i found the "Doc and Sett: folder in explorer. I've worked before in 5.0 and 6.0, there we will specify which is to made as bootable and flag value as 1000. But here nothing is there in the registry. In platform.reg in CEPC only the registry entry for [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init\BootVars] is available and the device manager is started in Boot phase zero, but i can tell that in 5.0 and 6.0 we will start dev man and Stre man at boot phase one. I want to set up the hive based registry in my hard disk which will be mounted in name "Hard Disk". What should i do to make it. Help appreciated, Kumar.

East asian locale support with ce 5.0.

Postby ZGFuaWVs » Tue, 06 Nov 2007 21:02:01 GMT

hi?
I'm trying to add any file of east asian to os image.
I tried the followings but all failed.
1. chinese os build
 a. set the build option -> locale to chinese(chinese)
 b. add 'traditional chinese' font ( MingLiu, MS Ming) to os design
 b. sysgen
 c. add a file of 'traditional chinese' to a bib file
 d. makeimg
 e. boot
After booting the ce device, I could find the os mui was chinese. But the
added file name is not correctly shown at 'my device'. It is crashed.

And when I tried again with korean locale, the result was same.

What is problem with my build process?

1.Asian Language Support in Windows CE 5.0

Hi all,

I am trying to localize my application for japanese language. My
platform is a custom platform and I have added the Japanese fonts from
the catalog into my custom platform. My custom platform is based on
Internet Appliance template.

I had successfully built the platform and booted my device with the
built platform but I do not find the japanese font files.
What could be the problem? Do I need to add any other component from
the catalog into my platform?

Appreciate any help on this.

3.to MS: CE fails to stricly localise east-asian languages

When I choose 'strict localisation' with any of the east-asian languages my
CE build fails because two (so far) resources are missing:

    1) msgslang_qvga.res
    2) aygshell.res

In my opinion those should be provided by Microsoft. They are provided with
the 0404 and 0409 locales, not for the other ones. I am not too good at
translating to these languages, uhmmmm....

Can a MS respresentative respond to this ?

Thanks,

4.QUERY: east/asian language support for English Windows 2000

I've got Windows 2000 Advanced Server English version. However I remember
reading/hearing that the 2000 versions were suppose to be international with
multi-lingual support - like the XP versions. Is it possible to install
East/Asian language support for Windows 2000? I have searched through
Control Panel and still cannot find any option to install East/Asian
language support.

Where can I get East/Asian language support for Windows 2000 easily?
