1.Offline files problem - some files lost from View Offline Files
Does anyone know how to find files which were being worked on offline but
have now vanished from the View Offline Files folder.
Today a blue screen of death wiped out access to the most vital
directory of my offline files. I suspect that the files are still
there, but the View Offline Files folder no longer shows them. It is
now 2.7GB and contains c. 8000 files, whereas the \Windows\CSC
directory is 3GB and contains c. 10000 files. Of course the missing files
are the ones I've been working on all week.
I'm guessing that some database which converts all the cryptic names in
the CSC directory listing to meaningful file names has become corrupted.
Is there any way of rebuilding that database, or of extracting the files from
CSC with meaningful names and directory structures?
Why can I not copy the contents of the CSC folder? (I get 'Access is Denied')
Is there any way of working out what files in the SCS directory correspond
to which files on my server?
Any ideas on how to get my files back would be most gratefully received.
Thanks,
David Wanless.
P.S. I am seeking a copy of the csccmd utility, v. 1.1, as it seems possible
that it's /extract function might be able to rescue the files.

3.offline files - file types that cannot be made available offline
when synchronizing data between a PC and a laptop, I
always get errors that some files cannot be made available
offline "Files of this type cannot be made available
offline".
Is there anyway to make the program treat all files the
same and copy them regardless? I am not worried about data
integrity as these are only testing files.
4.Offline files sync'd to offline files
I am running Server 2003 at the office and XP Pro on the laptop.
I have been synchronizing the laptop and server using Offline Files.
No problem.
Now I've introduced a home PC running XP Pro.
How do I get setup so as to keep the same synch'd files on the
server,
laptop
and
the home PC??
I've tried to setup the PC to use Offline Files and synch with the
laptop. But the files on the laptop are also offline files. I haven't
figured out how to synch one set of offline files with another set of
offline files. It doesn't seem possible.
Any help please?
