Hi All, Off late i am faciis ng a strange issue in my Vista Laptop.Model HP DV9602TX Windows Media Player is not responding at all.Not able to play anything in it.. Whenever i click the icon it just doesnot respond at all :( just to notify that i have windows Vista SP1 installed in my system.. One more issue is that i cant format the system as i have got a lot of stuffs installed in my system and have some urgent deliverables... Please help me out....... Waiting for your replies eagerly... Please help .. I own a Digitalway MPIO DMK 128. I purchased a song from Walmart.com which is a .wma file which I am trying to download to my MP3 Player and my computer is running Windows Media Player - Version 9. Walmart.com indicates that I must play the song before I can transfer so the Windows Media Player can acquire the license for it I've played the song and I've tried to transfer it to my device but I get the error message COOD1179 that my device cannot be detected. I have found no information that would lead me to believe that this device cannot support DRM files Any suggestions? Your help is gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Same problem here... I have Vista SP1 and when I start WMP from the Start Menu it opens ok. However, when I try to open *any* video file it freezes the system (I can only move the mouse, CTRL-ALT-CANC ineffective). The only way to get out is to power off the whole PC!!!

WMP just stopped working one day, all other media players work fine. Winamp, VNC, Realplayer etc. I have created multiple profiles both with and without admin rights, it will not open on any of them. Tried setting it as default player, still doesn't open.
I can't get my wmp11 for vista to open, as well if i try and play files in wmedia centre or HP quick play, it wont recognize. That being said, itunes will play the files. any suggestions?
