Error 0x8007042b
by Rubens Luque Sanches Junior » Sat, 26 Mar 2005 10:10:33 GMT
Hi,
I have a Windows Server 2003 Cluster with two nodes. I needed restart the
second node for maintenance, after that the Cluster Service on second node
stop ... The first node it's ok.
I tried "Evict Node" and join again, but when the setup try to start cluster
service I receive the following error:
Error 0x8007042b: The process terminated unexpectedly.
I read the KB 890761 and I installed the special fix, but its doesn't work.
I not applied any security templates, I not changed the password of cluster
admin account ...
There aren't much articles about it. Does anyone has any suggestion ?
thanks,
Rubens

Hi Rubens,
Please ensure that the Cluster Service Account (CSA) for the domain has the
following Local Policy User Rights mentioned in the article below:
How to Manually Re-Create the Cluster Service Account
http://www.**--****.com/
I had similar issue once that the same error would continue to occur until
the CSA password was to greater than 15 characters. Can you give this a
try?
828861 Cluster service account password must be set to 15 or more
characters if

Another thing you can check would be in the registry the
LMCompatibilityLevel on both of these nodes match up to what is set on the
DC.

2.Error 0x8007042B Installing .NET Framework
I received error code 0x8007042B while trying to install the .NET framework
on Win2000 Pro (with all other updates, hotfixes and service packs
installed). I can't find anything in the Knowledge Base or elsewhere that
even begins to provide any help or offer an explanation for this error.
3.Media Player 11 0x8007042b
I have a fresh install of windows XP and have downloaded all the critical
updates with no errors. Also installed IE7 and everything is working fine.
I come to update Media Player 11 and i get the download from the site no
problem however the application will not install and gives the error message
0x8007042b
This error message had very little information on the MS site and other than
some techy jargon giving a very brief unrelated explanation of the error
code.
Would appreciate some advice on where to go next with this.
Thanks

5.Server Error: Error 2 opening registry key.. error
Running Windows 2000 server, Frontpage extensions 2000 upgraded 20
extensions 2002.
When I try to publish a page from a different computer using FP 2000 client
to one of the sites hosted by the server, I get the error below:
Server Error: Error 2 opening registry key "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\Web Server Extensions\Ports\Port 80"
I checked the server, a server hosting different sites, and looked at that
registry key and found many entries under 'Ports' which looked like:
Port /LM/W3SVC/xxx: where xxx is a number.
I couldn't find an entry named 'Port 80'. I am not sure if this means it's
for the default website. Anyways, why am I getting this error?
