  • 1. Audit logon events
Hi I'm wanting to implement auditing for logon events to try and track unauthorised activity and attempts to logon to the domain. I have a multi-site single AD Domain with 2 or 3 DCs at each site. If I enable auditing for Logon events do I need to check the logs on all DCs. Is there a way that I can collate all the information from all DCs into 1 location or log? TIA KIWI
  • 2. Spooler Hangs Server Post SP1
Windows SBS Server 2003 print spooler hangs system after SP1 install. About 11 events per second added to event log stating "Printer Brother HL-1440 series was set." Several services timeout attempting to wait and store.exe (Exchange) crashes as well. If I disable the print spooler, all is well. What is going on? -Roy Hodges-

Does anyone have any details on if using the /PAE switch in boot.ini actually allows for the extra memory allocation above 4GB in Windows Server 2003 Standard Edtion. The documents I have seen have mixed results, but most say just Enterprise Edition or Data Center Edtion. Rob McShinsky
  • 4. single forest - multiple domain - group add question
I manage an AD domain with an empty root and multiple child domains. The domains are in Windows 2000 native mode. When I go to the group in domain A and try to add the group from domain B, the "Object Types" field changes to "Contacts or Other objects" after I change the location to Domain B. I don't have the option to select groups. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help. Bob

Postby RGF2aWQtU2Fj » Sun, 23 Sep 2007 07:22:02 GMT

When I click on START | SHUT DOWN. THe Shut Down Windows dialog appears and
the only option is to log of username. The workstations are on a server 2003
Network. Yesterday 3 systems had the problem . Today about 10 have the
problem.

These options are not disabled in any Local / Group Plocies
I have searched all over and can't find anything.

Anyb help would be appreaciated
Thanks
David

Hello,

Did you try with the /console ?

Maybe a domain GPO ?
can you issue an rsop.msc to check?

Delete the Reg_DWord values 'NoClose'

found at;

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
and
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Then restart for effect.
