When I change the password policy settings via the default domain policy, the changes don't seem to take effect until I either (A)reboot the server, or (B) restart the Kerberos Key Distribution Center service. This is a fresh install with nothing done to it except Windows updates. Any thoughts on why this is happening??

Event Viewer - can not see list of events when open Event Viewer

Postby S0R1Yg » Sat, 08 Dec 2007 00:13:02 GMT

Has anyone ever experienced a problem when opening Event Viewer and clicking
on Application log, where the right-hand pane never shows the list of
events?? This also seems to happen on the System log.

If I click on the Security log the list will propagate if I click the
refresh button but if I try refresh on the other two logs nothing happens. It
looks like the log is propagating because the scroll bar gets small (like its
collecting data and "wants" to show it) but the screen doesn't refresh.

I'm presently having this problem on a Windows 2000 box, I've seen this on a
Windows 2003 box before but can't recall what the fix was.

Any ideas, comments, suggestions are appreciated

Thanks in advance

I am logged to local PC with a domain account that is member of Domain

I'm stumped and would appreciate any suggestions. thanks.

3.Error appearing in the Event viewer (event id: 1058 & event id: 10

Dear all,

I would appreciate any help in diagnosing and resolving this error. Logged
in as an administrator on a windows xp sp2 laptop and the above errors appear
during the boot in the event viewer. I am logging on to the domain and I do
not receive any errors on-screen.

They say that they cannot access the group policy but I have checked that
the file exists and that I have access to the folder.

Any ideas or is there a better group to post in?
