servers rebooting 0x000000051error
by mvdb22 » Wed, 16 Nov 2005 22:04:32 GMT
Hi,
We have a serious problem with our Citrix servers running Windows
Server 2003 standard edition..
Since a couple of days the servers reboot all of a sudden. They get a
blue screen of death with 0x000000051 registry error in the
information. The servers have been running for 8 months without a
problem. There have been no changes, no new hotfixes or applications
recently installed. All 15 servers of the farm have this problem, while
the other servers (domain controller, exchange) do not have this
problem. Hardware used is Dell PowerEdge 1850 servers.
I searched newsgroups and websites. The error has been reported on
Windows 2000 servers but I do not find any info on Windows 2003
servers.
Even after a clean installation of Windows Server 2003 the server
reboots after a couple of hours.
No virussen were found.
Anyone with info on how to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.

You better review your search methods:
http://www.**--****.com/ ?kbid=898792 "A fix is available for a registry problem on Dell PowerEdge servers that have specific nonnative disk controllers and factory installed versions of Windows Server 2003 "
http://www.**--****.com/ ?kbid=907317 "You receive a 'Stop 0x00000051 REGISTRY_ERROR' message when a corrupted user profile is loaded on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 "

Hi Jerold,
I will sure review my search methods and not rely on google.com as much
as I do now ;-)
Anyway, will request the hotfix from Microsoft. Looks exactly the
problem we are having.
Thanks for your response, much appreciated.

This is the error message that is being generated:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck
was: 0x0000001e (0xc0000005, 0xa00bd537, 0x00000000,

When the server comes back up, it has this error in a
small window that says this: The instruction at 0x77fcb3ad

This happens every day about 2 to 3 times.
This is on a compaq 3000 with a 1gb RAM 2x P3-600Mhz CPU.
Replaced the network card.
Replaced with different memory.
There is a DOS program that runs on this Citrix 1.8
server. The OS is Win2000 with sp4.

2.dns server reboots, everyone reboots?
I have a small home network with four to six boxes, one of which is the
sole DC and DNS server (2k3). Occasionally this machine is rebooted,
and every time it is, all the others on the network lose DNS--no one can
see anyone. The only way I've found solve it is rebooting all the other
boxes. Is this normal?

3.2000 server with BES rebooting and also rebooting 2003 exchange
I work for a company with 5 servers. I'm having a problem with 2
servers in particular.
Let's call them server1 and server2, server1 is the exchange 2003
server running Server2003 and server2 is a BES server running on
Server2000.
About 4 months ago server2 started rebooting unexpectedly, sometimes
every night sometimes it will not reboot for as long as 4 days.
Everytime it reboots it also reboots server1 (exchange server).
My 1st thought was the BB server. 4 days ago I stopped the BB services
and sure enough yesterday it rebooted and rebooted server1.
I've checked for viruses & botware, hardware issues, overheating.
(just to clerify the invironment, I have a Primary domain controller
which is also the file server, secondary domain controller which is
also the antivirus and wsus server, a database server which is also
the print server, exchange server and a BES server.
Any Ideas that can help me out here?
