  • 1. POP3 email Problem.
Hi. One of my client's changed their Business name, therefore the also changed their email addresses. As their old email addresses are no longer functional, all their emails were re-directed to the new email addresses. In order to make these changes in exchange (using SBS2003), I created a new recipient policy and applied these changes, then changed all user accounts to default to these new email addresses. As they are using the Pop3 to retrieve their emails, I also changed their POP3 details to conform with the new emails. Then I retrieved the emails from the Pop3 connection to be distributed to the corresponding accounts. The problem is that the stacked emails (over 200 of them) received, were never delivered. I can see the in email tracking system as being submitted to the Categorize. Mind you when I restarted the SBS server, all emails now are going to the right recipients, however those 200 email are not delivered and I don't know how to get them back. Any Idea? Regards Mehran
  • 2. Using different email addresses in exchange/sbs 2003 R2
Hi, I have a number of small businesses with different email addresses. They are stored at different pop mailboxes at my ISP. I can collect the email using exchange and route it correctly but there are 2 things i dont seem to be able to do. 1) when sending out a new email, I don't seem to be able to change the reply address "on the fly". When using a standard email client (without exchange), if you have more than one account, you can specify which identity you are emailing out on at the time of writing the email. is this possible with exchange? 2) When replying to an email, again the outgoing mail has my default email address, rather than intelligently using the email address it came in on (or at least the domain). I hope I made sense! Thanks for any help
  • 3. Map share folder on network drive to companyweb
Hi all: I am numb and must be confused. I have a networked drive and folders that I want to be available from the RWW mycompany workspace. I would like to add a folder to the "documents and lists" page that connects to a drive and folder on the server. The intent is that my users will have access to the documents on the server when they log into RWW. The files are all standard file types...(.doc, .xls, .pdf...) The only option I can see is uploading each file to the RWW webspace and that is not really what I want to do.

Help Changing "c:\users shared folders" to "x:\users shared folders"

Obviously xcopying files and permissions is easy enough to accomplish.

My challenge is to modify Small Business Server 2003 in a way that new users
will be created in "x:\users shared folders" after I've moved them there
from the default "c:\users shared folders".

Any links, tips and step-by-steps would be greated appreciated!

1.Changing from Shared Folder to User (custom) Folder ?

When you install Eudora (6.0.0.22 here), you have a choice of using a
common/shared folder directory, or storing mailboxes in the user's custom
data folder (Documents and Settings).

How do you convert from the shared config to the custom user-folder
configuration? Especially with so many IMAP folders and *.mbx files lying
around in the shared folder.

Thanks.

2.HELP! Connecting users to there "users shared folders"

I just did a fresh reinstall of windows sbs 2003. I have the folder "users
shared folders" on a different HD. I have pointed my new windows installation
to use that folder as my "users shared folders". I have created corresponding
users & pass as it previously was on the old installation. It does not seem
to recognize the users however, if i try to override the security settings
under administrator account it gives me an access denied. Users are all
locked out of there files!

3.Users Folder Shared After Creating First Share

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate with latest updates on a large home
network. I've just created my first share on this Vista machine and have put
it in the Public folder. For some reason the Users folder (C:\Users) is also
shared - can anyone tell me if I have done this by mistake or whether the
Users folder is automatically shared?

In the Network and Sharing Center, Network Discovery, File Sharing, Printer
Sharing and Password Protected Sharing are all turned on and the remaining
settings are turned off.

4.How can a user view share properties using the shared folders mmc without having admin privlages

I have some users that need to view the properties of some shares on a win2k
member server. They should be able to view the share permissions without
being able to modify them.. Is there a was to let them do this. When they
use the mmc shared folders snap in and connect to the server they get an
access denied when the click on the shares. I don't want to make them power
users on the file server just so they can view the paths and the permissions
of the shares. Any help would be appreciated.
