I had a perfectly good working wireless network a few weeks ago, and I tried
to add another computer and since then I haven't been able to get the network
to operate properly. The router seems to be working okay, and the other
computer seems to be able to pick up the router etc. It seems to me that
althought this is working correctly and I have the computers in the same
workgroup etc, the computers cannot share the files. The one thing that
really jumps out at me as I go round and round in circles trying to fix my
problem is that when I look at 'My Network places' on my main computer and on
the laptop is that the Network Location for the laptop is "The Internet".
Since these computers are on my home network, I don't think this location is
correct. Can someone tell me if this is correct, and if not how can I fix
it? Also, can someone direct me to a site that will give me really good
directions on how to set up a wireless network - I have a rather antiquated
ISDN internet connection, my main computer is using Windows XP Professional,
so is my laptop, but the other computer that I was trying to add has Windows
ME. My router is a Netgear MR814. It all worked perfectly before, but I
can't seem to get it going again. HELP!
3.Newb install, 'provide Outlook 2003 files location',try CD, no joy
This is my first try at installing SBS 2003 from my Action Pack and I ran
into some glitches. First a warning that there is only one NIC installed. I
shall add a second soon. Second, in the 3rd disc, I pop-up that wants
location of Outlook files I assume for a fresh install of Outlook 2003. I pop
in the Office SBE 2003 but doesn't find what it wants. I try disc 4, or the
last un-numbered disc of the pack of 4 but no go. Eventually, I continue
without it.
What was the installation process asking for?
4.Newb install, 'provide Outlook 2003 files location',try CD, no
There are 4 discs with the first three numbered and the 4th labeled "Premium
Technologies". That has SQL 2000 on it. Upon browsing each disk I found
info that said that Front Page 2003 was also included in this set, but
perhaps mine came earlier in another subscription release. I do see I have
another disk labeled "Evaluation Software... Microsoft Windows Small Business
Server 2003 #3." And of course the previously mentioned disk "Office - Small
Business Edition 2003." I wish MS included a book on a CD so I could read
about the installation, etc.
