Vista Logon Screen Icon Picture how to hide it?
by Ri0xNiBtZWNo » Wed, 14 Nov 2007 03:45:06 GMT
Is there anyway to remove the logon screen icon picture totally? I have a
nifty program "logon studio" that puts a really nice background scenes but
that darn icon picture in the middle of the screen is really annouying me. We
are the only ones with an account on the computer so we don't need any icon
for our name. Any help is appreciated. If there is not a fix for this
hopefully microsoft will listen and get a fix for this.

In Windows, open the Run Command (Windows key + R) type in control
userpasswords2 click Enter > Advanced (tab) > under 'Secure logon' > check
the box that says 'Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete.

1.hide windows logon option button or hide local logon
I have a request that the option to logon locally be hidden or disabled on
XP pro workstations (in a 2003 server domain). This way a user would only
see the logon to domain as an option. Is there a way to do this via GP, reg
hack or 3rd party utility?
If so how does one regain local login control in the event of a DC loss?
(also I dont mean to just set the default option button state with
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon)

2.Logon icons not shown on logon screen...
Hi Friends
I have a notebook (hp pavilion ze5170) running Windows XP Home edition (which was installed through hp's factory installation cds
I have this problem occuring since the last week. I start the computer, the hp bios logo is shown, colorful Windows XP logo is shown and then I get the login screen. But the login screen DOES NOT CONTAIN the logon fields. How can I logon without these fields? I can't click anywhere, I just see the shutdown option at the bottom. There is lot of important data on the harddrive which I wish to burn to some CDs. Please help me..
Some questions..
1. Can I use the Windows xp setup CDs or boot floppy disks to do a repair
2. Can I logon to this notebook from another computer in a network?
3.Hide Inactive Icons "forgets" that the icon should be hidden
Hi !
I find that sometimes, a "Always Hide" icon shows up on the tray
again. Why ?
I can quote a particular situation. I go to Task Manager and
terminate Microsoft Activesync. When I start it again, it will show
up as "Hide when inactive" instead of "Always Hide". Is there a way
to really make it permanenet ?
Also, is there any commands to change the status of the icons from
"Always show" to "Hide when inactive" to "Always hide" ? Any command
that I can run from command line to make this change ?
Thanks.
4.Hide users in the logon screen
Is it possible to hide users created locally when login on? In a Workgroup,
it is necessary to create local users to specify which ones, in the network,
can access the resources and who cannot. I would like to see only my own
account

Is there a way to hide a user account that appears on the logon screen? Of
course without classic logon, how would you get to it later? This seems like
