Windows installer is bad....is there any help out there, running Vista
  • 3. .NET 3.0 is missing
I installled Vista Beta2 and verified that .NET 3.0 is not present. Attempts to download .NET 3.0 and subsequently install it were disastrous and failed. I restored my OS successfully and went to verify that .NET was there and it was not .NET 3.0. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance - Joe

Start button -- start menu Problem

Postby vladsky » Mon, 02 Jun 2008 13:46:18 GMT

I use 2 identical monitors side by side with Vista Home Premium 64-bit,
and use the classic Start Menu. Here's the problem:

Just recently, something odd has been happening: When I click the
Start Button which is where it should be, that is on the left hand side
of Monitor #1, the Classic Start Menu opens on Monitor #2... How can I
get my Start Menu to display on the same monitor as the Start Button
again?

NOTE: This problem does not happen if I use the Vista Start Menu, but
as soon as I switch back to view the classic Start Menu, which I much
prefer, it's displayed on the wrong monitor when I click the Start
Button Orb.

Found my own solution...

Control Panel.... Tablet PC Settings.... Set myself as Left-Handed...

Voil.. the Start Menu Opens on Monitor #1, the same monitor where the
Start Button is.

3.Foreign Language Item on Start Button Start Menu

I've got one item in some completely unrecognizable
foreign language on my Start Button Start Menu. It has an
icon in the quad colors of Windows. The Regional and
Language Options, Language, Details, Advanced tab shows
up in this language as well, as do occasional
confirmation windows.

I can find nothing to suggest how I get rid of this
problem. I don't seem to have any viruses/worms/spys
that could be doing this.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
