  • 1. Recorded TV playback flashes Vista MC
O.K. so I've made the jump to Vista (32 bit) and newly built system. I've recorded some shows (local Hd channels) and when I go to playback the shows the screen Dell 24" for lack of a better term (or terminology) flickers like someone is putting a black filter/white filter on and off. The picture is still visible so it's more shading than anything else. I've tried the nvidia drivers and the driver that loaded when I installed Vista. I discussed with my friend and he's thinking it might be a copy protection issue. I guess the question of what terminology I should use to google or if anyone else has had this happen? I don't mind reading so a push in the right direction is always appreciated. TIA, Kenneth
  • 2. Audio line in issues
Hi, I'm on Windows Vista Home Premium. I've asked a similar question to this before and so far I've semi-fixed the problem but was just hoping people could help a bit more. I"ve connected my decks to my line in jack (through a mixer) and selected "line in" as a recording device. I can see from the level monitor that the signal is in fact getting through, but I cannot hear it coming from the speakers. Do I need to select 'line in' as a playback device rather than a recording device? If this is the case then how do I do this, because the only playback device my computer currently has listed are my speakers......is it even possible to do this with Vista Home Premium? Another (less important) question is how do I get "wave out mix" or "stereo mix" to be listed as a Recording device, so that I can record live streams? Thanks Karim
  • 3. Vista Won't Load
All I was trying to do was GHOST over my Vista install from a 120G Samsung to a 150G Raptor I bought. Skipping all the pain up to this point, the 120G Samsung is hosed I think "file system not compatible" or something awful like that. Windows Recovery lists no OS but the files are there in the command prompt (dir). On my 150G I do have a booting OS but I see "preparing your desktop" and a blue screen that just does not go away. Task manager works, bringing me up options of whether to log off or restart, etc, and will actually bring up the task manager box. But I get no desktop. The recovery startup thing is useless. Should I just reinstall Vista on top of itself?

So posting a Flash problem to a Vista newsgroup will remedy that?
You must be proud of your job as the village idiot!

Obviously. being yet another techarena moron, who thinks Flash is the same
as Vista, your opinion means nothing.
To add humor to this train wreck you probably think you're posting to a
forum. You're not, moron. You're posting to a Usenet newsgroup, so please
include the post you're replying to when you decide cry some more.

1.Can't turn off internet connection sharing on wireless connection

Hi All-
I tried searching the web for an answer, to no avail. My friend has a
dell dimensions laptop with WinXP service pack 2 and a wireless card.
The wireless network connection is to a gt701wg wireless router via
DSL. Someone (not me) set up the wireless connection to route through
a windows internet sharing computer that doesn't even exist on the
network. I simply want to add that wireless connection to a
workgroup, but the internet sharing is disrupting that. TCP/IP works
fine from the laptop. How do I remove the internet connection sharing
computer from the that connection?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

2.Wireless Connection turning off and on

I have a strange ( situation) in my house. My desk top computer which is
wireless connected to my wife's computer in her room (hers is the hard wired
computer) is losing its internet connection. The wireless connection is
good. When I turn on my laptop right next to my computer, it connects to the
internet perfectly. As soon as it does, my desktop connects. When my laptop
is turned off, the desktop loses its connection.

3.Turning off Wireless Connection

I just installed a wireless router to my main PC and my notebook runs off
it's internet connection. It's great, until I want to turn off the internet
connection so I can disable Norton Antivirus and other background tasks when
running a game that requires a lot of memory. When I disable the wireless
connection (by hitting Fn + F2 on my Gateway 3550 Gz), it's off, but Windows
keeps searching for a wireless connection, which eats up memory and computer
resources. How can I get it to just stay off the net when I want, then
reconnect when I want without Windows looking for the connection in between?
Thanks.

4.Turn off notification of connection to wireless network

How do I turn off the notification bubble that appears from the taskbar
whenever I connect/disconnect from my wireless network?

5.Turning sounds off to wireless internet connections.

Hi, Im a new dell user. I connect to my internet through the laptop using a
wireless connectin through a router at home. Everytime i log on i get this
loud irritating alert/beep sound to notify me that the connection has
succeeded.

I have tried numberous attempts to disable the sound, even to the point of
muting everything. Nothing has worked.

I would be grateful for any suggestions/ideas for my problem.

Many thanks.
