  • 1. Two questions
    1. What's the secret to doing a "Combine?" I click two adjacent clips holding the CTL key and the Combine option is - most of the time - greyed out. 2. Is there some way to rename a clip? After I do a Split I'd like to rename one or both of the resulting clips. I don't know how to do that. Thanks, Doug

How do you download (is it possible?) to download a song from my Ipod?
  • 3. Recording audio in mono in WMM2?
I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I recently received some nicer audio gear as a gift: a "Shure" mic, some good headphones and an "M-Audio Fast Track guitar/mic recording interface". Installation was pretty easy and I can definitely record narration into a WMM project using the new mic. However, the play back of the narration is only in my left ear. I spoke to M-audio and they said that I'm recording in stereo and since I'm only using the mic input (the guitar input is unused), that's why I'm only hearing the audio as a left channel. They said I should try to set the software to record mono. Is this what's going on? And if so, is there a way to record in mono so that my narration will be heard on both the left and right channels? There's a "Stereo/Mono" input monitor button on the front of the M-Audio unit, but I recorded narration in both modes and it still only plays back in my left ear. Is there a workaround, or is this recording interface just not the thing I need? What interface should I get to use this mic? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  • 4. how to cut music for some audio from video
i need to be able to fade out a music track in the middle and get the audio from the video, then go back to a different music track, is this possible? How? (For example, I have a music clip playing during a wedding processional, want to fade it out and go to audio for the ceremony, then start a different music clip for the recessional, make sense?) PLEASE HELP, I'M NEW TO THIS!
  • 5. Turning Multiple Movie Clips into One Movie
I've been working with this program for a while, but there is one problem I still can not fix. If I take multiple clips (Saved as DV-AVI) and import them into one WMM file, even if I put a fade transition between each of the mini clips, when I burn it all together it makes a small jump from one mini clip to the next. I need to figure out how to stop this from happening, and make each transition smooth. Thanks!

Movie maker Crashing and Collections disappearing

Postby Andrew Goodyear » Tue, 07 Jun 2005 02:20:29 GMT

I recently installed the add on from the Rehan Website - Metacreations and
transitions. It seems that since I installed that programme movie maker has
constantly kept crashing while playing back projects. So I uninstalled the
Rehan packages and even did a system restore but alas no joy. What also is
annoying is that after one crash, the MM2 programme deleted all the
collections I imported. This isnt life or death as the original files are
still on my PC but it just means all my t{*filter*} etc has to be done all over

Please help someone, I do not have long and am supposed to be doing the
viodeo of my brothers wedding

I am sorry to hear this. I have already offered you infromation (via
email) regarding how to completely remove the metacreations package and
accompanying DLLs.

When a crash happens, it gets recorded in the Event log. Can you post
the information from event log regarding such a crash?
To go to event log, right click on My COmputer and select Manage > Event

1.Scenes disappearing when going from Movie Maker to DVD Maker

...and I thought my first video edit/publish with Vista would be flawless.

I've captured and edited about 84 minutes of video in Windows Movie Maker.
I then attempt to publish to DVD. Movie Maker automatically saves my video
and opens up Windows DVD maker. That is where the problems begin. When I
preview the movie before burning, a few of the scenes are missing.
Furthermore, parts of some scenes are missing video. It's like MM/DVD Maker
decided to shorten the DVD by randomly deleting scenes or parts of scenes.
However, the TOTAL LENGTH of DVD is still shows to be the same (84 minutes).
I went ahead and burned it last night and saw the same issue. Missing

parts of a video. Thanks for anyone who can help.

5.Movie Maker crashing when publishing a movie!

I just spend half a day editing a video and saved the result in a
mswmm project. The problem is that i cannot seem to be able to
publish the movie. Movie Maker stops working and reboots. It should
have something to do with incompatible codecs, but even when i
deselect ALL of them in Movie Maker / Tools / Options, even then, the
application crashed when publishing.

Can anyone help me get this project published by fixing the codec
thing in MM?
Or is it possible to open this Windows Vista MSWMM project in another
video editing application?

Many thanks!
