If anyone has any idea as to how to help with this problem i would me most grateful! Last Sunday i was editing some raw footage i had taken a few days prior, and everything was going fine, then Movie Maker stopped allowing me to drag any media type into the timeline or frames. Next difficulty was that i couldn't import any footage or audio, it keeps coming up with "Unspecified Error" and the destination path. I have had the computer man in and he has tried shortening destination names, all the options, checked all media that they are Archive not Read Only and still nothing happens. So if anyone could offer me any help i would be so thankful! David

Hey Lise,

You might try installing the client version of Movie Maker 2.1 instead of
doing it through Windows Update (if that's how you're installing it). If
you're using the client version, then all I can really think of is making
sure you have SP2 (if using XP) and making sure that all critical/software
updates relating to WMM(2) have been installed.

LEmme know if u need the client version, I happen to have one on my personal
FTP.

1.Problem: Movie Maker shuts down whenever I try to load a movie

Whenever I attempt to load a movie file into Movie Maker, it shuts down. A
dialog pops up that says: "Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." That's all it says: no
additional information.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

3.DVD Movie maker shutting down

Hi,
Can anyone help. I have been trying to publish a project created in Windows
Movie Maker in Windows DVD Maker. However, each time i add the project in and
click next, windows shuts dvd maker down. The problem and resolutions page
suggests i try disabling lmpgtspl.ax, which i have done to no avail. I can
add in the individual unedited video clips without issue, but not the
finished project. I can publish the project on my computer and burn it onto
DVD that way, but i then lose certain features, such as scenes etc.

The full error message is pasted below - i would really appreciate any help
anyone can give.
