Please let me know how the original answer to my question mr-rain wrote: ---- generally for starters... enter settings/taskbar start menu. ensure that taskbar is unlocked and quick launch is showing. from there anything that you want to remove, right click and delete. to add, drag application icon from it's location into the bar to create shortcut. you can right click and rename if you wish to remove "shortcut" from name. This all goes the same for the start menu as well..

To determine if the problem is caused by third-party software use the Startup Tab in the System Configuration Utility (msconfig.exe). That is: - Click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK. - Click the Startup tab. - Click to clear all check boxes for third-party software except for one. - Click OK, and then restart the computer when you are prompted. - Repeat this process, selecting a different third-party software check box one at a time then restarting your computer, until the problem occurs.

when i click on a hyperlink in outlook mail, picasa install screen pops up

Postby onebearcomputing » Thu, 19 Oct 2006 04:42:59 GMT

whenever i click on a hyper link in an open e-mail (I use Outlook) it
results in the intall screen for picasa coming up. I have tried 'x-ing'
out and retrying the link, i just get picasa again. i've tried deleting
picasa's install part of its package, it still comes up. the same for
shutting down and rebooting after doing these actions, i still cannot
access hyperlinks, just the install screen for picasa, i even tried
reinstalling picasa, but no dice, it still wants to reinstall itself
when i click on an e-mail hyperlink. hyperlinks in explorer act
normally. any ideas on how i could fix this, i'm stumped. thanks, jan

You state 'tried deleting picasa's install part ....', but do not state that
you tried Add/Remove Programs.
Have you tried that so that it gets totally removed from the system?
You cannot just delete packages ... you must use Add/Remove Program if they
are installed in MS Installer fashion.

2.have Outlook 2003 but pop-ups for Install office 2000 come up

Hi.

I've got Office Professional Edition 2003; trying to setup Outlook 2003's
signatures, and I'm getting a pop-up telling me trying to install from Office
2000 for components. I don't have Office 2000; only Office 2003. So I put
the CD in for Office 2003 and get an error message saying file 'DATA1.MSI'
not found. It won't pull from the Office 2003 disk.

So how do I fix? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.
